I'm just now noticing the AARs have hand-held radios instead of headsets. I guess this is to stop all of us from cracking jokes about how useless they are. :p

How long until Carroll gets a caution for PI?
He's been brutal in the early going.

Should've had one just there, but a nice goal will do I think.

so THAT's the AAR signal for goal. Face the field and squat like you are taking a dump.

    Elegant.

Oh Grandma, what big eyes you have!
(FYI they have been using them way before this tournament.)

Right. Since 2009 in the Europa League and 2010 in the UCL.

And they aren't in lieu of headsets. They are beeping sticks--just like the sticks that the ARs have--or very similar to them--but without the flags.

I think they should use the Australian Rules Football goal signal.

    Nice!

good call for the caution on Milner - and the Swedes make it pay off.

I don't think they are. I think iron81 is incorrect. Unless the stick has a button that activates the communication device, but I've never heard about that.

Anyone catch what Ibra had to say to Hart after the goal?

Looked to me like Hart was upset that the celebration was happening in his goal. When he barked, Ibra barked back

I think one of the other Swedes made contact in the heat of the moment and then Hart took exception. But whatever happened, you could clearly make out exact what Ibra said!

Interesting seeing Skomina bark about the pushing in the box prior to the corner that led to England's goal. I (think I) heard him saying "Penalty or Out" - while gesturing. Seems to be saying "that's enough!" pushing in the box.

You could see him say "corner" on the replay. Skomina pointed to his ear when he eventually stopped play.

Does anyone have an issue with the caution on Olssen? It seemed to me like he was running back and Hart just pegged him with his kick rather than Olssen interfering. I have seen it called that way before, but it seems strange to me.

Advantage played on a challenge in the middle third (or maybe foul just ignored). Tackle seemed quite bad, but no replay.
