Neymar is truly cursed at WCs. He will retire not ever having played 100% or at least near it in one.
While I don't think we wowed anyone with out performance (like Spain, France, and England) we gave a solid performance and didn't run any risks defensively against a solid opponent. We definitely played the toughtest opponents compared to those other 3 favorites. Even with our offensive formation, Serbia were at no point close to scoring a goal. My concern now is the health of Neymar. While I believe he is past his prime, he is probably still very central to the team's success. In his absence, we'd probably have to either play Rodrygo in his place or put Fred in and move Paqueta forward.
🚨Update: Confirmed by Brazil’s team doctor, Neymar has sprained his ankle and is already receiving treatment. We will need to wait 24-48 hours to understand the severity of the injury. They have no awnsers at this point. pic.twitter.com/fMQBkVzmOb— Brasil Football 🇧🇷 (@BrasilEdition) November 24, 2022
Yup. Looks like its not serious Neymar is set to miss Brazil's next match against Switzerland, but is hopeful for the rest of the World Cup - after undergoing an ultrasound scan on Friday afternoon. (L'Éq)https://t.co/N20d3UVO6j— Get French Football News (@GFFN) November 25, 2022
yep, im nursing one myself and mine is pretty light, its taken 3 weeks so far and I still can't push my ankle from left to right properly. for some reason, Tite swears Neymar will be around for the WC, idk what kind of witchcraft he's planning. Maybe he's thinking Neymar will be out for the group stage and make some sort of comeback towards the end of the tournament assuming Brazil make it far
Serbia had to play a lot of defense because Brazil played very well, but they didn't play with a defensive attitude (i.e. playing a 5-4-1 with nine men behind the ball). When Serbia got the ball, they tried to attack, instead of just hoofing it up the pitch....
Serbia were definitely playing cautiously though. Didn't throw too much up because goal difference matters as well and Brazil is not a team you want to risk leaving big gaps of space behind. They have fast forwards.
