I mean the highest level is to be found in League A of the UEFA Nations League.

I don't speak about club football here.

Serbia is playing so badly that Brazil are looking phenomenal.
IMHO this Brazilian team is overrated!

Based on the first half no.

Based on the second half yes absolutely.

But will it be enough to add a sixth star to their chest ? It remains to be seen.

Honestly both teams played very well. I was extremely impressed with Serbia (my adopted team). While Serbia is really good, I always knew Brazil were superior talented and experience wise, and I expected Brazil to win eventually. Keeping up the intensity for 90 min is definitely a tough ask against Brazil, and in the end Brazil were the better team. Serbia defended extremely well though.

You gotta feel, Brazil's first goal was a terrible deflection off the goal keeper and a rebound. The second was pure world class that is very hard to score. Serbia should have it a lot easier against Switzerland and Cameroon.

I can see Serbia honestly beating most teams if they play like this. The only teams that would be hard are Brazil, Spain, and Netherlands. Any other team is totally beatable for Serbia.

I do think that both Brazil and Serbia are quite a bit better now than 2018.

Kudos to Serbia for actually trying to play with Brazil instead of being overly defensive and putting 9-10 men behind the ball. That was one of the most entertaining matches of the tournament so far.

Brazil was very wasteful, though....could've easily had 5-6 goals had their play in the final third been better. And Brazil looked very shaky defending Serbia's corner kicks.

Serbia didn't test Brazil that much. I think they were trying to play cautiously even when losing because goal difference matters. I honestly don't think Serbia really expected to get anything against Brazil.

There are few guys in the serbian team that came in second half that just don't have the level to play this match.
Kostic missing on the left wing is a hard blow for this team. If he doesn't Come back and if Mitro Vlahovic are not back in shape as fast as possible it will be complicated to get past this group i think.

Losing Danilo could be a big blow for Brazil.

Anyway, they looked like the best team in this tournament.

I want to see what Serbia are like when attacking, they were instantly losing the ball repeatedly and have very heavy touches. Although tbf I don't think there's a ton of very attacking teams at this WC. They are very disciplined and have a great tactical setup which will work against most teams, however I think any half decent team will be able to handle Serbia

Kostic is injured Mitrovic and Vlahovic are coming back from 1 month injuries.. they looked toothless. Don't know if they will be in form for the next games.

I thought it was a professional, mature, and solid game from Brazil. Many young players but they were able to maintain the defensive system (4:4:2) and not over commit on attacks. They did well to stop Serbia counters. Serbia is a quality team, it was a good test for Brazil.

We need to play faster, and take shots earlier. I don't think we can replace Neymar at this point, we need him to be at our best, he opens a lot of space. We should be able to rest him for the next two games, hopefully he can heal in this time.

Brazilian players are the ones who handle the ball best in this World Cup. Well, it's Brazil. But not all world cups were like this. Very deep talent on the bench as well.

Spain have a fascinating passing style. But not as many individual options as Brazil.

    Brazilian weakness is:

    - air balls, they avoid their center shots. Or they just aim for Marquihnos, who is the tallest player. The team looks great. Defenders are not that great, compared with Roberto Carlos, Lucio, Edmilson, Roque Junior, Cesar Sampaio, Cafu for example.
That's why they keep the ball, control the game so that they can avoid corners of their opponents, interruptions in general. Smart move. But, they will have problems with Switzerland. The Favourite Killer.:D Goalkeepers are great. Ederson - bench player. With some other passport, he would be number one.:whistling: Portugal needs better goalie.:cautious: And Ederson could have some Portuguese heritage.:p

Gabriel Jesus probably better than Raphinha.

Best impression after Round 1: Netherlands, England, USA, France, Spain, Japan, Brazil, Switzerland and entire Group H.
