I was expecting that Chile would provide some of the most beautiful football of the Cup, and they aren't disappointing. This is a joy to watch.
I agree. Chile need to create more chances. Against better teams they are going to need two, three, four goals because they will concede playing like this.
Gotta be the best save of the tournament so far, from a GK regarded as one of the weakest at the Cup.
Honduras just isn't making any meaningful connections in the attacking third, frustrating and disappointing.
64' 0-1 Chile free kick from 24m wide left, defensive flick header at 9m center -- not enough deflection, continues to far post. #8 Marturo Vidal, wide open at 2m 6-right, heads across the goal mouth! #3 Waldo Ponce gets a free dive-header at 3m just inside the left post -- #18 Noel Valladares dives (his) right and blocks it! Ball rebounds flat left to ~3m 6-left. Chile (#15 Jean Beausejour?) collects and fire in another shot to the near post low, and Valladares catches this one.
Chile need to keep in mind what happened yesterday with New Zealand... not that they're not trying to score a second but it's just that in the WC - you've got to take your chances or else int may come back to bite....
