This is the last of CITY's matches leading to the badly needed break. It likely will be the last match for several CITY players, because several contracts expire in June and the Second Transfer Window begins in July. Regardless of how any of us see the departing players’ performances, remember that we are St. Louis and we represent the best of soccer history in this country. These players have worn the crest. They are human beings with families and feelings. (Our journey with Eduard Lowen should make that reality very present in our minds.) Let’s applaud the departing players. Let’s show them why St. Louis isn’t anyplace else or a random new soccer location without history. We’re better than that. Let’s thank them for their effort and wish them the very best in their future endeavors. Austin comes into this match with a brand new interim coach and interim sporting director. They beat us 2-0 on their home pitch, but this match isn’t in their back yard. That match was their last win and our last loss. On the road, Austin hasn’t won this season and has been bleeding goals allowed. Let’s end the pre-break schedule with a resounding win. Always and only, Let’s Go, CITY!!! Discuss.

Unless I'm mistaken, the only contract that expires in June is Teuchert's. Cordova's short term loan also ends in June. I feel bad for Cedi, but from a pure business standpoint, we shouldn't pick up his option. Cordova might be slightly better than Becher, but at a $1.2 million salary, that is everyday starter money, and he isn't that, therefore we should send him back to Young Boys. There will likely be some other outgoings, however. As for this game, I think Damet has a great chance to give some guys a chance. Expectations on this one are going to be low (or should be based on the 120 minutes we just played) so use it as an opportunity. Start Joyner, start Mbacke, start Fallou.

Well that way exceeded my expectations! Damet has us rolling, now time for Wray to get aligned and give him some players! Lutz’s decision to let Bell go and keep Yaro
CITY ended the pre-break season with a strong run of games. Damet has a system, the players have bought into the system, the players are improving, and the team is growing into a new identity. These are all positives.
