Saturday's match is the Matchday 14 Regular Season game. Wednesday May 21 is the USOC Round of 16 Match, which has a separate thread. This round of the Avenue of the Saints Derby has Minnesota in third place in the Western Conference, heading for an H-A-H Playoff spot and CITY in fourteenth place, thankful that the LA Galaxy are in our conference. Minnesota has a better offense and better defense than CITY, a positive goal differential, and twice as many points. Unless something changes - like our head coach - between now and Saturday, this will be a tough road trip. CITY is winless in the last nine matches. CITY is having a weird Noah's Ark season, where every type of result comes in pairs. If that continues, CITY could escape this match with a draw. Not only are the results coming in pairs, but CITY's road and away forms are identical: DWLLDL, except for this Wednesday's home draw at the end of that list. Discuss.

Apparently Olof 's still here, since he did the Pre-Match Press Conference Kessler admitted that focus and fitness are issues. He ducked the question about what was said in the locker room after the kansas debacle but said there is trust in the coaching staff. Olof did the usual Olof babbling.

I hope everyone is safe in St. Louis and the surrounding areas in Missouri and Illinois after the severe storms and likely tornado in St. Louis and the entire area today. In St. Louis, there appears to be is a lot of damage NW of downtown between Fairgrounds Park and MLK in the St. Louis Avenue corridor and in the CWE and Clayton, and several people with injuries being treated in local hospitals.
What's up with Zalinsky? He was only talked about positively in the pre match presser, and it sounded like Olof was hinting at a potential start.

Now, now. Just because it's big, long, has lots of seats, isn't running, and says "Greyhound" on the side doesn't make it a . . . uhhhhhh . . . OK, maybe it does. A really really bad bus.
We get to do this again in four days, then three days later play at 5,164' in Commerce City with tired, poorly conditioned, poorly coached players.
Who is this Lutz to be telling us to not to discuss their performance? Clearly, he does not undertand Americans . . . yet another reason for him to return to the Fatherland . . .
It's becoming a tradition that CITY doesn't post highlight videos for losses. Absurd. Anyway, here are Minnesota United's Match Highlight and CITY's Post-Match Press Conference videos. Hartel's comments in the press conference are interesting. Especially hear the Q-and-A beginning at 12:23.
