I mean I guess one of the considerations for that not being a yellow is "we don't give yellows 2 minutes into a World Cup match" and the player that suffered the foul is Swedish.
I do think the actual contact was much less than it seemed and the Swede probably exaggerated the effects. But the Tunisian guy just got lucky in that regard because the tackle was so bad that he essentially went over his opponent.

The announcement itself wasn’t bad, but I don’t think anyone knew it was happening nor could hear it. One place where the old style whistle plus signal and point would have been way better.
Interesting that they showed the noise recording of the touch on the ball by Isak. Just like is done in cricket to determine if the ball slightly touched the bat. PH

That I think was an example of humans > tech. AR kept flag down, and apparently was notified by the tech to raise it, right? So VAR had to intervene on the tech call that the AR didn't make. If that is what happened, we are in the era of technology policing itself.
I’m not sure the AR had that touch in real time (honestly, how could he have?). And if there was no touch, he was definitely offside
Well the angle that showed the flag going up (and I was watching French feed) had such a delayed flag. It did not go up when the player scored, but a second or two after. Maybe the R/AR were talking ("was there a touch? I don't know. If not, offside. Ok, raise flag"). But it seems more likely to me based on the timing that it was the auto notification for offside from the initial cross, that he did not flag in real time becasue of the touch.
