We finally return home!! The World Cup has been great, but it's time to see home town footie live. This Saturday, June 26th, 7pm!! Don't forget, we're on a winning streak too! We need to make sure we pack the house. I still have plenty of Buy One Get One Free Club Level Vouchers. So if you need some, let me know. Don't forget to get the word out about this game. If you need/want flyers, I can email it to you to print out. Let's do this!! AC!!!
wow, Battra and I were posting this at the same time. I guess that's two of us that are super excited about this game!
I found it quite funny that you both posted within a minute of each other. I'm ready to cut loose and have some fun this weekend. Cannot wait for kick off.
and the funny thing is that I would have had mine posted sooner but halfway into posting it I hit the back button to check again if anyone else had posted the same thread. Maybe I could sense that Nik was posting it too.
Battra and Time4wine i figured it would be easier to post here about the tailgating to make it easier. Ok so for everyone, a long time ago (about a month) we all talked about tailgating at our parking spot instead of going to growlers for this game. I think this is a great idea still and think we should still do it. However, my stupid work screwed up the schedule and Im supposed to work Saturday night (i'm doing everything I can to switch days). But as for tailgating, if you guys still want to do it, i'll call up there tomorrow to make sure everything is ok, which I'm sure it will be. If we decide to do it another time lets plan on July 10 instead of next week. Let me know what you think.
The Day Pints, Shaw, and Chickenhead all tailgate in the parking lot and we've never had an issue. We get there around an hour before kick off and drink a few in the lot. We park past the field and in the row of the back of the parking lot. The more the merrier. Also there are always people with spare tickets and beers for those without.
Damn...no dmelsh again?! You're gonna miss another win by our boys! Oh well...let's plan for the 10th and we'll do the grillin' and the what not. That's what battra has decided for battra's crew, as long as Kyle agrees.
I'll be there lads! You'll have to fight each other for the grand prize of having me in your group! Oh, and I'm bringing a lady with me. First ever football match for her.
Wow..dude...you were totally already in my crew. If I've blogged your mug...you're in my crew. That's kind of how it works.
Not to put a damper on our first home game in forever, but isn't it likely that Anelka will rest a lot of our best players for the game in LA?
Anelka is confusing at best. He'd better play our regulars because the regular season is where it matters.
doubt it. even fully rested we're not gonna have much of a shot vs. the Galaxy. At this point keeping the form going in a regular season game that means something is probably more important. Also, its not like our squad is big enough to make many changes.
Suppose you're right. I certainly hope we'll go for a win in this statement game against one of the leagues biggest sides. I'll be there, in green and white.
well for the usual gang that meets at Growlers, I suggest we still meet there for a few then go park at our usual spot and walk over to the Chickenhead Tailgating Fiesta (new official tag?). How's that sound?
if we go with Fiesta we should call it El Diablo's Fiesta. El Diablo is Spanish for Fighting Chicken.
Speaking as someone who just got off the phone with a secretary in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon, Mexico... Fighting Chicken would be 'pollo lucho.' Or...chickenhead would be cabeza de pollo.
Define Will Ferrell Fan. I think he's a great sketch comedian who's movies by and large suck. (Though he was excellent in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back)
Ricky Bobby: ... its Magic Man ... and El Diablo ... Cal Naughton, Jr.: ... what, what's diablo mean? Ricky Bobby: ... its like, its like Spanish for like a fighting chicken ...
