    Never in a million years did I think I would feel like Argentina got shafted. Guy started out with the ball then failed to leap over the guy who stripped it from him. I have mixed feelings like they deserve it, but is this the twilight zone, but it's karma, but I saw dissembling.

    But nothing there is what we are taught regarding the components or justifications for such a call. The speed has to do with both players, not just one. This is the WC Final and we have extra time so I’ll let it go, but that gets overturned if given as red.

    Don’t get me wrong. Common sense prevails there because it was pretty clear Messi reacted negatively to illustrate the confrontation once he realized. Almost as if he’s been coached to that effect.

    But this rule had no wiggle room for common sense or interpretation. If Messi says he was confronted…

    My thought on this is that Argentina is going to have more leeway, particularly Paredes, in extra time. What will it take to toss a second Argentine player and get to 9 v 11?

    Giant joke. I don't blame Vincic for making the initial call, but for VAR to not get involved there is absurd.
