    Okazaki in?

That means they want to score another.

Could be a bad move actually. Taking Matsui out they have left their right side more open.

That being the case, it might really liven up this match down the stretch. We'll see.

(unless we nod off, of course).

Not really. Okada put in Kazaki. He is a solid 9. I like Okada's movement. We will still have game here. He use to be to defensive and lost all the friendly games before WC.

this has been the worst refereeing performance of the tournament. no huge mistakes but calling way too many niggling fouls and there a non existent yellow. pathetic

60' 0-0 Japan show two clever anticipation moves, and one not-so-clever footrace idea.

Clever: #2 Benoit Assou-Ekotto holds in a 1-v-2 in the left corner, spins endline, and one of the 2 (#16 Yoshito Okubo?) anticipates Assou-Ekotto's quick-reversal, gets "behind" him -- and sure enough, Assou-Ekotto does an exuberant dragback-spin-sprint, charges right into that guy, knocking himself off-balance to his knees. Ref snorts at his protest.

Clever: #2 Yuki Abe holds just behind midfield mid-left, turns and fakes the backpass for control, waits for his man to eagerly jump the passing lane -- then simply turns upfield and dribbles right through that guy's zone of the field.

Not-so-clever: #5 Yuto Nagatomo, overlapping way up on the left, receives with a man on his back. He tries the dump-and-chase to the endline, i.e. to outsprint the guy. Then he tries to out-muscle him off the ball. Then he trots back ruefully.

Looked like a rather harsh yellow there. Especially since a bad touch just put the ball out for what would've been a goal kick.

Is the ESPN matchcast accurate? Japan has had 1 shot? And scored off of it?

Japan's backline =/= Inter's backline, hopefully Cameroon score one to open up the game again.

Livescore.com has 1 shot on target, 0 off target, for Japan. (1/3 for Cameroon)

Geremi coming in. It means Emana moves right and Idrissou comes in to play in front of him.

Le Guen has noticed that taking Matsui out has weakened Japan's right side!

Cameroon is likely to score if Japan don't do changes.

Japan must bring in Hasebe and take out Yoshito. That way they can cover the hole on their right side of midfield.

Man, for 3 quick touches off that free kick, Cameroon looks positively Brazilian.

Followed by a lead-footed pass over the goal line.

Exactly. Cameroon is now tripping over their own feet.

very very disappointed with this Cameroon team, specially the midfielders; they were nowhere to be found in the first half, and turning over the ball easily in the second half. Feel sorry for Etto'o to have such crappy teammates.
