Does anybody have any information on what's happening with the Boston Bulldogs and or Cape Cod Crusaders for next season. The Bulldogs took the year off and the Crusaders won the PDL. Will one of these teams be competing in the ALeague or D3 ? Just wondering...

I get Boston press releases and they have not announced anything either way. I don't think there is anything moving up to the A-League though, but no word about Cape Cod or Boston.

I remember reading an article some time ago that the Bulldogs were planning to return in 2003, perhaps playing in Lawrence instead of Framingham. Assuming that to be true, I'm guessing they will be back in D3, with the Crusaders remaining in the PDL. No need to break something that's already fixed.

I heard through the grapevine that Worcester will field a (better-organized) team again in the PDL, which would mean Boston would not be in D3 (Worcester leases MPS's Boston-area franchise rights). Most players I know are operating under the assumption that there will be no Bulldogs next year. I have not heard from anyone associated with MPS about the decision yet, last I heard they were exploring both options--leasing the franchise and moving home games to Lawrence.

Good info. Hope Worcester is better-organized. They sure played like a team whose days were numbered toward the end of this past season. It'd be nice if both teams (Bulldogs and Worcester) could co-exist somehow, but I don't really know how the league's franchise rules work.
