Last night in Utica Max Ferdinand went to turn around near the goal and tore his Achilles Tendon. He will be a huge loss for the blast. I just hope the blast can bring in someone who can fill his shoes. The bigger question would be who is even available to even bring in and is in playing shape?

"top-tier talent" that just happens to be available on the street. because college players will still be in season.

Looks like the only trade to be done by the deadline was with Tacoma Sending Vivi Dantas Back to Baltimore.[IMG]

The MASL didn't mention anything about the trade deadline. When was it?

leave it to the masl not to recognize that st. patrick's day falls in edt/pdt, as it has since 2007.

I don't understand how the mechanics of this will work.

Right now teams don't sign enough free agent rookies to fill two rounds of a draft, but 80% of them are local players. So now will teams only draft their local players or will San Diego draft that guy who would have signed with the Blast? And then what? Will he even sign or will they hold his rights hostage?

With no draft, teams can sign any player under the sun, and they aren't. The purpose of a draft is to fairly distribute players' rights, but there is no player pool for teams to compete for.

I feel like teams will pass or just draft players they have little real interest in signing. Or they will draft players who are destined to play in MLS and the USL who have little interest in playing in the MASL.

one news cycle of the team name being out there? dunno. you are right, it would be super surprising if many draft picks ended up playing. and the 'okay, i can just go play indoor if you don't pay me what i want' would be met with guffaws from any usl team.

The Blast vs Chihuahua playoff quarterfinals. Looks like game 1 will be in Baltimore, Friday 4/8 and games 2/3(possible mini game)will be in Chihuahua, Monday 4/11.

I think teams can still sign players who haven't played for other teams this season, but they are not playoff eligible.

ambush win both games against KC. if Ontario wins against, the Sockers in regulation the ambush are out in a 3 way tiebreaker, due to worse goal differential than Milwaukee or Ontario
