From the Dragons' web site: "Chesapeake Athletic has bolstered its PDL team with four players from the 2002 NCAA Division I semi-finalists, University of Maryland. Midfielders, Ian Rodway, Michael Della Russo, and Bryan Vitigliano will join fellow Maryland teamate and Dragons veteran, Nino Marcantonio, in the black and blue. Dragons Coach, Kevin Flynn, will have additional new faces to work with during the 2003 season which is set to begin on Sunday May 11 2pm at Bowie State University vs. Williamsburg Legacy."

    Good but...

As I said on the other board this is good news to see local players from the better programs playing for the Dragons. Unfortunately Nino Marcantonio is just recovering from a broken foot and had emergency appendecomy(sp?) surgery on Friday. Brian V-Tag has a cronically bad back that kept him out of UMD's final three Spring games. These two players may not be ready to go at the beginning of the season. On the positive side they are getting two of the best and more underrated midfielders in the country in Ian Rodway and Michael Dello-Russo. Look for Chesapeake to be much improved.
