anybody know why convey wasn't included on the roster for mexico friendly. why not put him at left back to tear up the young mexi-guns as well? is he injured?
Convey still plays for the U-20 team. I think he moves to the U-23s next year (in addition to his senior team callups). I don't see any reason why Convey and Martino couldn't end up working quite well in the same midfield.
Convey, Eddie Johnson, Justin Mapp, Devin Barclay, Zak Whitbred, Ned Grabavoy, and Ricardo Clark, all of whom are still in the U20 pool, have been called to the U23 pool. It's quite common for players to play-up. As for the U23s with Martino and Convey, for the game the answer is "neither." Martino was dinged up over the weekend and dropped from the 23s game with Mexico Wendesday and Convey already wasn't called up, presumably so he could play with United against Tottenham Wednesday.
John, the question about Convey was about him not being called up for Wednesday's U23 game against Mexico. As to the other question, I don't think this game is being televised anywhere. Too bad.
Speculation about Convey not being called, is Hudson refused to release him. DC plays Tottenham in a friendly tomorrow, and Hudson wanted all the starters to be there.
Ray doesn't want to be embarrassed by an EPL team the way we get embarrassed by MLS teams, so he needs Convey there.

I read it in a post in the DC board, I believe the title was "Is Convey Ok ?" or something close to that....And I think it was just speculation. Sorry for not being more clear.
