    about demichelis

Martin Demichelis, a young defensiv-player from Argentina, plays for Bayern Munich next season. He is playing for River Plate now, i think.
Does anyone know more about him? Do you think that he can make it in the first eleven for Bayern? How do you predict his future? What are his strong and his weak sides?
    Thanks for answers.

all I know: he is a tall defender, that moves forward often, scores important goals for his team on corner kicks.

    will do fine in Bundesliga.

"Do you think that he can make it in the first eleven for Bayern? "

i dont think he came in that cheap. If he plays in the first team in the argentina league he can make it in the bundesliga, after all the bundesliga is weaker than the argentina league.

you can watch him tomorrow on fox espanol, qualifing game to finals for copa Libertadores vs.America de cali in colombia

he has great partner on the back and complement each othe real good, I have not seen them get cought in returning to their positions on a fast counter atack.

One thing: draws many yellow cards, But I guess that is part of that position on the field.

I have actually been perplexed by Bayern's interest and faith in him. Don't get me wrong, he's a pretty good defender, but he makes errors, and routinely gets burned when he plays out wide. Maybe Bayern likes his tools and think they can smooth off the rough edges, but I just don't see him stepping right in and playing for Bayern. I realize that there is a certain glamour in Argentinian prospects, especially those from River Plate or Boca Juniors, but I have to say that it appears to me that they are forcing this one.

bayern de M.... has many compromises next season, they need a deep roster.

demichelis is ready for the chanllange, what kind of transaction fee was involved? and who is playing in that position today for the champions of bundesliga? to see his chances......

look at other central defenders that went to euro ligas and play regularly: mario yepes (from River to Nantes) and Ivan Ramiro (froM san Lorenzo to Inter)

and the guy from Boca jrs, walter samuel (former partner to el patron bermudez)

Martin is a solid defender who is only 21. He has a LONG career ahead of him. He was sold for about $6 million. He has improved greatly for River and has played great in Copa Libertadores. A leader in the back, He'll do fine in Germany.

I hope the germans did not wacht today!

dimeichelis, le dio un gol de posicion y colocacion al america en el primer tiempo, y en el segundo el Negro Moreno le quemo la espalda con un movimiento muy rapido para el grandote de river.

I think that he contributed greatly to the 4-1 tonite.... sorry to burst your bubble Bayern fans

good for river, they are getting rid of Judas!

    Re: Demichelis

Don't worry. Demichelis is an allright defender and will learn to play for Bayern. But Milito will be a big star for Madrid, IMO.

aloisius, Milito is way better than DeMichelis (eventhough Milito is just 176 cm!) DM commits mistakes who cost the points in a couple of matches but that's product of lapses, he's 7.5 - 8 and Milito is 9 in a 10 scale

I'm sorry but I don't belive in great CD that are 176 cm tall. I only know two of those : Cordoba and Cannavaro. The Colombian is probably the fastest player in the world and Cannavaro is one of the smartest and strongest. They would both still be much better if they were 10 cm taller. And it's not just about defending headers. Example: Nesta is a very smart and skillful player, but he also has a big body that gets in away of attackers.

You will believe it when you witness Milito's success in Madrid (unfortunately)

If Milito is so much better than Demichelis than why didn't BM get him. Demichelis has been signed since December and for good reason. He is one of the best defenders in the Argentina League and has played every match with the same fire and skills. Does he make mistakes ... yes, but who doesn't. His mistakes are few and far between. He is a leader and the best defender you could pick up for immediate impact. Good move for Munich. You'll see his skills very soon and you won't be disappointed.

Speaking of mistakes Milito scored for Urugauy in the friendly today in La Plata, Argentina. Everyone makes mistakes!

If De Michelis is a better player than Milito then why he havent been capped yet?

I didn't bother with the Cup match. Info is harder to find on those. Thanks.

He hadn't even made the bench in the league games. I figured he was injured, or that I missed the news that he ended up with some other team.

Thanks! I used to frequent a site by the same name(I think) that died about a year ago.

    Here is link to article:

    http://www.futbolargentino.com/AutoNoticias/DetalleNoticia23628.asp

"Demichelis showed solid work in the defensive line."

"Demichelis, in a relatively easy game for Bayern, played confident enough and made it clear that he is a defender with sufficient qualities to be a starter for that spot."

Did Demichelis move to Italy? There were highlights from Italy on TV as I was racing out to work, and some guy with the name "Demichelis" was mentioned several times.

So if this is our beloved Martin, it looks like Germany has had enough of him, and he's gotten a little closer to Argentina.

How much longer before he makes it all the way back?
