Still, hate his guts, he is so fragile mentally and lacks the Drive to become better.

Still has some time to redeem himself but he does need to work harder. Right now what he needs to do is play well whenever Santos needs him to. Then go from there.

Has arguably a better career then Quintero.

Weak mentally but also didn’t try to become a rapper. Quintero didn’t try to play until he was 25 yet the way he was defended and still defended is mind blowing

People still hate Rodallega for a comment he made at 20 or to hate Marlos is just crazy when Quintero wasted his talent for 6 years

Hate?! Nah chill, no one should have time for that... It's not like he came to your house and pissed on your couch or hit your dog...

But I was gonna say there's a Marlos Moreno sighting... Goal and assist I hear?!

Good for him...too bad for him things didn't work out in Europe but he's still young.... Doubt he will be able to become a mainstay with the national team but at least he's he might be able to leave a good name for himself and Colombia in Mexico

What comment?! Lol people are funny about stuff like that.. Let me know the comment though I missed that one... But for for real, if Quintero thought talent alone was gonna save him and now he is getting whipped into discipline by Gallardo, Marlos can surely do the same... Maybe Liga MX will be perfect for him.. A guy like the guy at America or Tigres would be good for him

People who defended Quintero were right about him being good. Most of his defenders were also frustrated at some point, but still, they were right.

Ok I don’t hate Quintero those last few goals are incredible but still not sold on him or Muriel. With their talent they should have done more with their careers at this point.

My issue is with people writing off Marlos but even before the River plate revival were like call Quintero anyway. I mean I have players I dislike as well but The way people write off some of these young players is crazy

No feel like Quintero is more of the Pibe everyone in Colombia had been dreaming about so he gets a lot of leeway when it comes to his bullshit. Other players are not as lucky

Quintero has always had traits that no one on the national team had- apart from james to some extent (exquisite vision, passing, and set piece ability). Marlos doesnt really have anything that sets him apart at the moment.

In his debut at age 19 he was in great form and people hoped that hed become more refined as a player (especially in front of goal). But he’s regressed, and offers nothing but a player who runs like a chicken without a head (which theres plenty of in colombia).

I wouldnt write him off, but at the moment he is in bad form, and offers nothing in spite of that form to merit a call up.

Quintero is world class in a few areas of his game, comparing him to Marlos first of all is laughable, there aren't many players in the world who can hit a ball like Quintero and match it with vision and thinking outside of the box. I won't write either one off it doesn't have to be a one vs the other, its clear that young players sometimes fall off the path and sometimes they need time to figure things out and realize their career is short and in order to achieve anything they need to adjust their mentalities. It's really hard to be a professional soccer player and many Colombian players come from difficult backgrounds and don't always hit the ground running in more demanding atmosphere's, Quintero for instance talks about how his father getting dissapeared really effected him.

For Marlos I think Mexico is a good move for him, he's failed a lot recently and playing in a less intense league where he can build back up his confidence and get back on track seems like a smart move. He can still turn it around, but I think for him expectations need to be lowered and he needs time.

I'd also add that the biggest difference between Marlos and Juanfer is that Quintero's shortcomings were something you could easily fix. In terms of talent and vision he has always been a monster, onnly lack of discipline kept him from succeeding. Marlos' case is more complicated, there are perhaps too many problems to solve.

The thing in Marlos' favor is that you can always find a place for a player with speed on the wings. He also has pretty good vision and passing abilities himself.
JuanFer if he get's transferred to a team that does not know how to use his abilities will be in deep trouble again.

All I know is that MArlos under Rueda was utilized in a way that was brilliant and effective, It may take him going wherever he goes after the Chile experiment is over.

La traduccion (lo siento, es google translate...) :

Marlos just drew a penalty on a nice run and dribble past a few defenders.

They clobbered him though . ( They have been killing him all night long.) Has to go off on a stretcher.

Would have had a few assists too if his teammates were not so inaccurate.
