Fossey starts a fairly meaningless one against OH Leuven. It's the first match for them without Aiden O'Neill, who has left for NYCFC.
Fossey played all of a 1-1 draw with a couple of chances created. Nearly had an assist when one of his crosses was headed off the crossbar.
Played the entire match as captain. The team lost 0-1. Fossey seemed to have a decent match and got a shot off as well.
Marc Wilmots is hired as the new Sporting Director. This is a hire with real buzz. Many are hopeful this will help rebuild the club. Fossey might have a better team around him next season.

The relationship might end this summer with Standard and Fossey. He has been identified as one of the four main members of the squad that are worth the most and thus able to get the best amount of transfer fees from.
More confirmation that Fossey is on his way out. "With the 2026 World Cup in his own country in sight, the American right back wants to play himself into the sights of his national coach. He does not seem to believe that this is possible at Standard, which is why he is thinking about a new step." He started and is the captain for the last match of the season vs Westerlo.
