Just out of sheer curiosity... What are the various marketing campaigns present in the 10 MLS cities? How heavy is the advertising through the different mediums? Is there any direct marketing? Any season ticket holders get extra perks? I'd be interested to see if there is any correlation between different forms of marketing and attendance. Obviously winning is not the only thing, as present with the past two MLS champs. I tend to believe that the teams that are spreading the message best are also doing the best jobs of developing a fan base - this being more important than how good the team is at present.
