Heck, maybe we should try to get Hejduk too ... then we could have hustle on both sides of the field. Sure, we might never see another decent cross from the flanks ... but man, those guys would quickly be fan favourites, right? RIGHT?

My kids want to see bicycle kicks. I'm for it.

Anyone know if Gori does that flip throw? I love that.

He was with Pittsburgh in 2002 as well - they just don't update their player bios very often.

Good point, maybe we can bring back Rob Johnson a third time.

    Central Park South,
Giants Stadium hasn't seen a consistent bicycle kick specialist since Pele and the Cosmos. Hopefully Gori can bring back some memories.

He ain't no six feet tall. He's probably about as tall as Lieutenant Dan and Verne Troyer if they stood on one another's shoulders. He's 5' 7", max.

I was joking earlier today that Gori was my favorite Rev #10. The man plays balls to the wall all the time. I saw him fly over the top of another player, land square on his right shoulder [which later turned out to be a partially broken clavicle and Grade 2 shoulder separation] and stayed in the game until the end.

He can play left mid, too [not great, but serviceable].

WTF? Did you guys pick up Gori?

Well, I've watched him for the Riverhounds these past two seasons. He's most definitely not 6 feet tall (5'7" is about right), and he's missed time with injuries both years. I sat behind the RIverhound bench and twice watched him get treatment for a bump on his shin the size of a tennis ball -- that's a product of wearing shin guards that look like they were designed for ages 8 and under. And he's been pulling muscles more and more. He is, however, extremely fit.

Oh, and about those bicycle kicks... every one I've ever seen him execute has been entirely pointless. Usually near the middle of the field. And usually he had enough time to turn around and chest the ball down and then, you know, make a controlled pass to someone else or something.

Well, enjoy Mario. He's entertaining if nothing else.

  14. Marcelo (there's no "Rocky" in our) Balboa will retire. Except for the pathetic Metromangement facesaving five minutes he got last year, you will never see him playing in a Metro kit again.

I'm glad that someone besides me realizes this. Balboa duped the Metros out of a full season's pay and AGAIN (I have stated this several times) what did he do? He sat on the sidelines lookin' all concerned for the team, wearing jeans. It's Nick's fault too for not realizing the injury was serious and would sideline Dildoa for the entire season. Nick has never heard of making a player take a physical exam before signing or something. We will not see him suit up for Metros in 2003.
