Even though I don't know what goes around in Brahim's head, I can assure you that he definitely didn't want to "kick the opponent while they were down". He just did something inexplicable; it happens and he'll have to live with it. And like others said, even if I find it inexplicable (it's a very high risk action and the circumstances should have pressed him to make a different decision) it's a legit way of taking PKs. I just feel for Brahim. He will need to be taken care of by the club, not only is it common decency, it's also part of being a good employer!
Could be a turning point in his career. I hope it lights a fire under his a** He's very talented...just hasn't really shown that hunger to be top tier imo. I hope this is it.

I've heard former players say they still regularly thinking about big missed shots that were less important and less difficult than Brahim's miss. This will be a tough one to recover from quickly I think. Especially when he is coming back to a team where he is not even starting.
