Well he is according to these people and i fully agree: http://footballforums.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=38101
He got quite a few mentions, but it was by all means not universal. Lewis got a couple of mentions too.
Hahnemann got more mentions than any other goalkeeper in that thread. I think Lewis was nominated only be PNE fans?
I like Marcus Hahnemann, admire his persistance to succeed in England and think he's just a gread story this year. However, I gotta go with former Howard University GK Shaka Hislop, if for no other reason than the fact that he has Portsmouth in position to be promoted the top flight.
Nothing against a former Royals keeper, but to say he's dragging Pompey towards the EPL is missing the point of their season. That team scores with the best teams in the first, and really is loaded with EPL players. the Royals, as every poster in the thread noted, are all about a system, which means great team defense. They're not unlike Blackburn this year, or in MLS like the Wizards in 2000. Great defensive teams are anchored by goalkeepers playing on their heads. Best of the year, who knows. but for the last month, and for October, Nov and 1/2 of Dec., it's certain that no one was playing any better.
