    Hello Guys,
Many people have sent me emails asking me all sorts of questions. I have even gone as far as hooking someone with a contact to a pro team so they can get a trial. Also some of you have been asking me about the new Developmental league and what I think about it so here it is....

The new developmental league is good but it will only be great if all the academy teams are free of charge. You can get very good players from the streets to play soccer with no charge- that would be great. In mexico no players playing for youth systems spend a dollar. Next year all 1st division teams in Mexico will be required to field a 90 team and a 92-93 tea, before each pro game. Mexico still has alot of work to do and so does the USA. People get all happy because USA beats Mexico but lets see Mexico and USA beat Italy , Germany, Spain or Argentina AND Brazil in a real match not a friendly. Anyway I cant said USA is better than Mexico Until they walk in one day in Mexico City and beat Mexico. I do admitt USA played better than Mexico last wed.

Time for me in Indios has been hard but I'm thankful I'm still here. I cant say my salary but its around 40,000 dollars to 70,000 on a 3 year contract....
Hispanics from the states are pouring in all over Mexico trying to find a team to play in. I know Tigres has about 3 americans playing. Indios has 4 in their youth systems as-well. American and Chivas both have a pair. Many register under their Mexican passports hiding american identity. They dont mean to do it just easier to play here once they know you are a true Mexican. If you want to come play ball over hear make sure you have good contacts !

I love the notion that USA will never be better than Mexico until we win in Mexico City... when you haven't beaten us in America in almost a decade, we beat you in the World Cup in 2002, we beat you in the last Gold Cup final (albeit in America the crowd was at least 75% pro-Mexico), etc.

Unless the World Cup is ever in Mexico again (which I doubt for the next 30-40 years), whether or not we can beat you at the Azteca is really of no consequence... because we have and will beat you anywhere else. One loss in qualifying will not stop us from topping the group.

You do know that Marco is eligible for the USA and was almost called into our U-23 team.

Yes, I am aware of that. Doesn't mean I (or any of you) should look past where his loyalties obviously lie.

I tend to agree. Saying we aren't better than Mexico because we can't beat them in Azteca is false. Barely anyone has beat Mexico there. USA is a step ahead of Mexico right now, and that is a fact.

Not sure it really means who anything. Don't let homer-ism fool us into thinking we are better than we are.

Perception is reality and until we beat them in their house, everyone will think we are a one-trick pony.

So let them think that. Answer me this, how many teams have beaten Mexico in Azteca?

    Exactly.

Marco, your post is quite interesting, especially about the information about the Mexican youth system. Good stuff.

However, I disagree about what you said about Mexico vs the US. Until Mexico can beat us on neutral ground, we're ahead of Mexico. After all, we were the ones who knocked them out of the 02 WC.

I think Costa Rica and Paraguay have both won at Estadio Azteca fairly recently.

His loyalties? You don't know anything about his loyalties. I'm amazed you're talking down to him as if you can judge him based on that post.

You might not care but it factors in when talking about us not having won in Azteca.

not to mention that he said that he wanted to play for the US. it's posts like the original "basher" that may change his mind.

marco most of us are defending you, i hope your season goes well.

Sorry, but unlike the defenders, Marco's post revelations raised an eyebrow with me too.

Quote-((( "Many register under their Mexican passports hiding american identity. They dont mean to do it just easier to play here once they know you are a true Mexican. If you want to come play ball over hear make sure you have good contacts ! ")))
After reading that, it's not hard to assume he and other's would find it "easier" to deny they're yanquiness and have loyalties as a "true Mexican". The "basher" didn't put the seed in anyone's mind, it's obviously there. As SGE said, those are the rules (dual citizenship etc), so it's ok and going to happen.

I think some people are being surprisingly confrontational towards a person who's offered to help for no other reason than to be helpful:
Let's not drag this thread into areas the OP didn't intend.

Re: Marco Vidal update and advice to those wanting to come to Mexico to play

Yep...If anything, i appreciate Marco Vidal's contribution and wish him more PT soon and health throughout his career.... even if not necessairly agreeing with all he says...

I don't really think we "need" to beat Mexico in Azteca . Would i want to? Hell, yes, but we are not seeing a WC (doubt they are getting a third one in 2018 or 2022) there anytime soon. Furtehrmore, the logistics to prepare for altitude, even for important matches like qualifiers make beating Mexico a demanding/challenging task...whereas i wholeheartedly agree with his view that we need to confront -and do well- vs. the top soccer powers -and not just in friendlies- to improve... But we already know that... We are playing the Confederations Cup with our A team for that reason, right?*which is why at times some posters' nitpicking on our team's play and coaching is confused with negativism and hatred, when all one is looking for is trying to see improvement....

As for players going over to Mexico....Hey what's wrong with that?...Any player who can and/or tries to make it there is ok in my book...It's their life, and if they have the drive and desire to gain a spot, excellent.. Playing for an MFL club regularly is not easy, and opportunities that arise should be cherished...plus the pay if successful is not bad at all....And what if they are using passports they have every legal right to attain as dual citizens? (over there anyway) ....All they do is in the name of making a living, not trying to slight the US or the USMNT......to think otherwise of players who are just starting to show or get very few minutes with their clubs -right now- is ludicrous...
Marco Vidal, thank you for helping out fellow Yanks..... PLease ignore the haters....

    * at least that's what most of us think the plan should be....
