Portuguese international MARCO CANEIRA has just agreed to a transfer from Bordeaux to Spanish champions VALENCIA.

Caneira is still a young player ,but has experience in 3 leagues so far,Portuguese=with Benfica,Alverca,Sporting.
Italian with Inter and Reggina and French with Bordeaux.

His natural position is central defender ,but he can also play left defender ,as he did at Benfica and right defender as he did at Bordeaux several times.

He was considered 1 of the best defenders in the French league, and was for a very long time the captain of the Portuguese u-21 team.

Currently has no more than 5 caps for Portugal.

Another good Portuguese central defender, its great for him moving to Valencia, but its going to be hard getting a starting eleven position, because Valencia have Ayala, Marchena and Pellegrino, but since he can also play at left defender and right defender maybe he finds his space in Valencia team.

I agree on both points. Caneira is very versatile, and Valencia will have a number of matches during the course of the year with La Liga, Cope del Rey and Champions League. Don't discount the fact that Valencia's management is preparing for the day it receives a Carvalho-Samuel type offer from one of the big clubs to take Ayala away.
