does anyone around here no one exactly why marcia decided to stop coaching after two years i just heard that she is now the assistant general manager for the courage seems a little strange by the way, one of the two best friends i had growing up was ted mcdermott, marcia's nephew; although we haven't seen/heard much from each other in awhile. just figured it was a neat connection i felt inclined to share with y'all
IIRC, when Marcia stepped down she said that she wanted to persue other interests. I believe the ones she mentioned were writing and going into business. According to the news articles that were written when she was re-hired as the assistant GM, it sounds like she'll be working a lot on the business side of things for the team.
We had an entire thread devoted to this topic and another thread with excerpts from an interview that Marcia did on the "Inside Soccer" radio show, but we unfortunately lost both of those threads when the message boards were "restored" back to mid-November. From what I recall of the interview, FC Carolina is correct saying that Marcia "said that she wanted to persue other interests" and that some of those were "writing and going into business." Marcia said that she wanted to take a break from coaching, but she left the door open for returning to work for the Courage in another capacity so this is why it was not a complete surprise that Marcia is back as the assistant GM.
