And the hits just keep on coming... Marchionni is done for the season. He fractured the 5th metatarsal of his left foot, recovery time is between 2-4 months. Then he can start to kick the ball, once that occurs it could take a few more months since it can be very painful even when healed.

I liked him at first but it is one thing after another with this guy. He had a lot of promise, even signing and going down to B with us. Too bad.

After the sitter he missed against Samp the other day, I am not shedding any big tears. Anyway, according to the OS, further tests are to be made, so we may see him again this season.

Read this on Channel 4's site...

Meanwhile, there is cautious optimism over midfielder Marco Marchionni, who picked up a foot injury after a clash with Maxwell on Wednesday.

There had been fears that the Roman star may have broken his fifth metatarsal and could be out for the season, but it now seems that the damage is less severe.

However, a micro-fracture cannot be ruled out and that could keep Marchionni out for over a month.

Latest reports now have him being out for about a month.

Unfortunately, it may be time for Marchionni to go. He is gifted but injury-prone. When a player becomes injury-prone at a club, there isn't much point in staying for the long run. Once 2008-09 comes, how would he hold a spot in Juve's first team? He's usually been a bench-warmer.

Its annoying how Marchionni and Camoranesi (who he is supposed to come on for) are both always crippled.
