Our heroes, emboldened by their victory against their foes from the metropolis to the east and by their never wavering support of the citizens, now leave the fortress of home and travel south to face a foe from a southern city. Depleted by losses and absences, our Crew continue to win despite all that has been thrown against them. New faces, normally on the fringes at full strength, have been pressed into the front, and have kept our yellow clad heroes marching ever closer to glory! For our foes, a leadership change and poor performance recently have left them in disarray and chasing our protagonists. Will our heroes repeat tales of old and go south to victory, or will their new foe hold them off?
Fair enough. I was going to make a more flippant yet somewhat flirty-sounding comment, but I cringed. So I went with using the rather benign word of “cool.”
I generally don't shy away from being called "cool" because it happens so infrequently, but in this case...
Defense has been playing well so far this year. With the team getting healthier, they gotta find a way to score today. No excuse to not win today, especially against a depleted Atlanta side.
I think the one thing we shouldn't expect to see today is a scoreless draw. Atlanta is desperate for a win, and will likely push the issue at home. That will open up space for Columbus to exploit, who aren't likely to be bunkering in the first place.
The issue from this is that the times our defense has struggled is in transition moments and set pieces. Not sure we want a truly open game.
ATL opening up all 70k seats at the Benz today. Heinze is gone, Josef is back, and the Benz will be full and rocking. We better come ready to play from the first whistle or else we risk getting run out of the place.
Whoa, this lineup is a bit troubling. Hopefully #33 and #99 can have breakout matches. After Lucas is brought in for Hairston, Wright-Phillips and Hurtado both get one, Crew win 2-1.
HAHA, I love that show. Looking forward to getting into season #2...not sure if I am looking forward to this Crew vs. ATL match.
