A free game, open to the public, according to their news release. The location is West Valley College in Saratoga, but the kick-off time is not listed. I'm going to carve out some time to go, but does anyone know the specifics?

It should be loads of fun. Players on the cusp will usually try to play a bit beyond themselves. Hopefully we some action for Barr, Cook and Horvath.

    Over here!
The CyberRays e-mail newsletter lists kick-off time for the March 8th scrimmage as 3 p.m. Seems funny that's not in the release on the website.

For those who didn't know about it, there's a sign-up for the e-mail newsletter on the website.

Good luck to the Rays! It will be a great opportunity for the newbies and oldbies to come out and show what they've got. I wish stuff like this was on TV. :)

Like Rita said, the newsletter is available through sign-up on the site. Everyone who's a fan and isn't already on the mailing list should join. It's very helpful throughout the season.

    Go Rays!

Consider me signed up on the emailer.

I disagree with the TV item. Games like this are only meant to be experienced live and in person. You can sit smack on the sidelines and have a player come running right through your seating area trying to reclaim an errant ball. The players are also more verbal than they would in a more formal setting. Access to the players and the entire game experience is much better than if the game were put in a televisable venue.

Finally, it is free and it is essentially a tryout for the players on the cusp. Would that be possible on TV? Ask a friend to video tape the game.

Hey there, Roel. I guess I should have been a bit clearer on my previous post. I wish games like this were easier for me to see.

I know what you mean! If there was only a soccer-adicts' channel. Anyway, live soccer in the setting this weekend will be great. So far, about 15 women from the teams I coach will be there. The crowd will probably 100-200, so stuff like this is a unique opportunity. Both low-profile and highly tactile.

We better see plenty of subs! See what the Rays have, and might have had, this season.

Absolutely. It'll be a good first-look at the team. I think Keri Sanchez will make her debut as a CyberRay. It'll be nice to turn the tables. Keri's mom plays on one of my women's teams, and she goes to cheer her mom on. Imagine having that on the sidelines!

Oops. The game is at Evergreen College, not West Valley. Better tell my people!
