Marcelo Salas the Chilean Striker is looking at offers from different teams but will sit out if no one will pay him what he wants.

I think he would fit great with the Dynamo if we can at a good price.

And what kind of money is he looking for? Also, if he's a ego-case, Dom won't take him no matter how cheap he comes or how great he is.

He was awesome when he was...uhm, awesome and younger. He could bring good experience and leadership, but definitely not worth a DP slot. Then again, look at Larsson in ManU..he's 35 and still tearing it up.

    How about this guy? http://www.santosfc.com.br/jogador.php?cod=379

A bit older and wiser, but can still play I am sure. Would not use a DP here either.

Did the article say he is from Sao Paulo? And is he playing in Germany. Saw something about him intimidating his adversaries in Luxemburg.
This guy, we could use. Let him intimidate Landycakes and El Pescado . I see him as a attacking Mid fielder? Is that right, Offebacher?

He played for Bayern and before that Leverkusen. He can play various positions in the Middle, on the Flanks and in the back if need be. Remember him being a pretty creative guy. Played in the WC for Brasil also.

You guys should really take that other guy. Salas will fit in at DC much better, plus he can use Jiame's walker. ;)

Oh man "El Matador" has nothing left. Infact last year he was in the middle of some backroom scandal that got him kicked out of Universidad de Chile.

Being half chilean myself I have the greatest respect for El Matador. He had one of the best headers I've ever seen, and in Colo-Colo he was brilliant. But even at Juve a few years back he was mediocre, and I can't imagine him getting anything else but worse. Time to put those trophies and shoes on the shelf Marcelo, and look back at a great career!

He and the president of Universidad De Chile Mr. Edwards, had a disagreement. The detail are not very clear, but it is speculated that it generated from Salas lack of fitness.

He is not old, he is only 32, but he has sustained a number of injuries to his legs.

PS. Here is an article on it, its the last one I read on the subject. Hope you know Spanish. :D

I wouldn't have a problem with Salas if:

    A) He's fit and not an injury case waiting to happen.
    B) He's not asking for silly money in which case, save the DB slot.

Interesting article, i did remember hearing that bolivar was interested in him and wanchope, too bad those rumors never came of anything .I would love for him to play for my beloved bolivar! Or DC which ever. LOL

It didnt really state what it was that made him not be considered for the team, but i have a feeling it was his fitness as i remember him in river looking some what portly. Still dangerous though.

If we could get him not for a DP slot he would be good as a supersub.

    I agree to old.

But I can say that it was a pleasure to be alive when Marcelo Salas and Ivan "BamBam" Zamarano were the strikers on the Chilean team. They were FREAKIN awesome to watch. Probably the best 2-punch combination ever in a World Cup (France 98), if you got to see them you know what I mean.

I'll tell you who the Dynamo should sign. He's a superb finisher. He's the poor man's Michael Owen.

Mikael Forssell. He was a Chelsea product, loaned out to Birmingham City, scored double digits the first season, then loaned out to Crystal Palace again scored in double digits, then back to Birmingham City where I think he scored 18 goals, before finally BCFC bought him for an undisclosed fee. See for yourself this guy is rated as an 78 ST on FIFA 07.

He hurt his knee early last season. He came back and scored a winner versus Blackburn that kept BCFC's hopes alive to survive the drop, but he was too injured to play in the remaining 4 games and BCFC was forced to play Emile Heskey and a young unproven striker named DJ Campbell.

Don't let his knee injury fool you, this guy is a clutch player. He was a hero for BCFC for a year and almost was one last year. He scores goals when you need them most. His knee injury means he has lost some pace.

The best part is we could get him for cheap (won't regain full fitness until mid February) and AEG won't have to worry.

    Mikael Forssell to Dynamo!!!

Or perhaps you want a World Cup quality striker?

Akwa, the captain of the Angolan national team during the World Cup, used to play for Qatar team Al Wakra. Now he is a free agent despite having no injuries.
