Notice it says: "Formerly Crew Stadium." Then again, this is a national-level festival with a lot of people coming from all over the place, so the "formerly" part may not be unexpected.
the final 4 four the new "Crew" beer is: 96 Lager Black and Gold Lager Brew SC Red Card Lager http://www.columbuscrewsc.com/crew-sc-brew/
The music isn't bad, somewhat generi-metal, but easy to listen to. But man... the girls... Just... Maybe it'd be better if it was in English? lol
Even if I WAS a hardcore drinker (and I'm not), I'm not sure I'd want to tangle with a brew that has Blackout right in the name.
Great Lakes makes a fine version of an imperial stout that carries that name: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/73/15813/
I won't be drinking any of them, but I actually like Brew SC. If we were the only team started in 96, then that one would work, but we weren't, so there's nothing "crew" about it. Red Card Lager is even more generic. Black and Gold is alright, I guess, but Brew SC is a bit more creative, even if it was first mentioned in mockery.
I actually voted for Red Card Lager. Sounded more like a real beer name to me (in vein of Killian's Irish Red). Black and Gold Lager sounds like Crew version of a black & tan which is mixed beers. I'd be all for serving those but naming the beer that seems confusing to me. I hate Brew SC - seems fake-ish soccer antieurosnobbish to me or another way to put it - Dumb. I could even get behind Lager 96 whci to me is slightly better than 96 Lager.
Since Brew SC is the only name with SC in it, it will win, regardless of the number of votes it receives.
Is this 1995? Why the hell does the Crew need to have its own ersatz craft beer? The whole effing point of if having local craft breweries at the stadium was that THOSE beers represent Columbus, in a way analogous to how the Crew represents the city. Leave the brewing the CBC, Four String, Elevator et al; serve their beers with pride in their original incarnations. The Crew should focus on trying to win soccer games.
I was under the impression that this is just a rename of the beer that CBC sells at the stadium called Crew Brew...
