What a nice surprise from Old Trafford. A five point lead in the table!

I hope Wenger and the boys don't forget last season. They can't afford a let down.

    Arsenal, Arsenal, Arsenal!!!

Don't blame you for being offended. I think most us admire and respect Juninho (even if only begrudgingly when playing us!).

Congratulations and thanks. You've down both of us a power of good. Taken yourselves out of the relegation zone and given us a little breathing space (taking nothing for granted)! Great boost for the cup final! Go Boro!! But...

    Come you Gunners!!!

Good show to Boro. As marty said, we need the breathing room. Hopefully, the lads will be as ruthless as United was last season and not let up down the home stretch.

get news but is anyone disheartened that both Fulham and Boro have taken points at OT and even Wolves have beat them but we played for the tie at OT. I really hope that we do the job in march. Not only to gain the six points (yes six we get three during that weekend if we win and they get none there for losing three so it is six) but to send the message that we are now the top dogs of the league not Man Ure.

Thanks Boro for the breathing room.

arsenal and manure have also been rivals for the last 10 years for the league title, so the games will always be tougher for us. also, look at the teams they lost to, fulham, boro and wolves are all easy teams for them to write off as just another game when they came in there with the heart to get the deserved win over a team that did not respect them. also, did anyone notice the, what seemed like, the 30 extra minutes of stoppage time at the end of the match today? seemed like the refs gave them every opportunity to score an equaliser

Not really disheartened, no. Every game is different and some teams match up better against certain teams. Plus, just like the Gunners on occasion, ManYoo probably doesn't focus as much on the so-called lesser opponents.
Anyway at that time of the match, Arsenal had just given up a lot of goals to Inter so I don't think it was necessarily a bad thing to go into that match making defense a priority. I would've preferred attacking play as well but as many around here are fond of saying..."Arsene knows."

One of the things I was just thinking about is that Man U as of late has reminded me of us last year at the back. There was a lot of disorganization, players out of position, etc. Set pieces in particular were a big problem. We seemed to have solved our problem (knock on wood), but with Rio out and no real viable alternative to place in the starting XI, I'll be very interested to see if Sir Red Nose comes up with anything. Maybe he could put "Rock of Gibraltar" at the back!

The difference this season is that Arsenal hasn't looked like slipping up too bad. I remember your loss at Highbury to Rovers a few seasons back (I enjoyed that), and you don't look like getting ambushed like that this year. You don't seem to have to "focus" to win, you just have to play solid and wait for Henry to score (he should be outlawed). ;)

Lately, it's been the defences, because even though you didn't play great against Wolves or So'ton, you got goals from Henry (even if they were cheap and dirty) and held them to a goal each game. United just gave up three goals to Boro, and who have had a terrible season in front of goal. Arsenal seem a more ruthlessly efficient and consistent, while Man U blow hot and cold--the fact they have only 2 draws illustrates that. Keep it up, because as much as I dislike you lot, I'd rather have you than United this year... ;)

Ferg slipped up sooooo bad by not buying or at least loaning a centerback for the stretch run. I thought for sure that he would steal Van Buyten from under City's nose out of spite if for nothing else. ManU are being torn to ribbons at the back by mediocre clubs, and it is such a beautiful sight to behold. Juninho scores a header? You know your defense has problems.

sorry, but no one is handing us the league. We've done well to earn every point this season. Besides, there are 13 more matches to be played. Let's just keep them wins rollin'.
