    Pubs in Atlanta

I was thinking of watching the ManU - Arsenal match a the pub.
Does anyone know of good pubs in atl?
Does Fado's and Brewhouse Cafe have big screens?
Is it free to watch or is it like international games where its 10 bucks?

I can't speak for Fado because I live in Decatur and therefore try to avoid Buckhead at all costs.

The Brewhouse has one big screen and 4 other tv's. They will not charge for the match on Sunday. The only matches Michael charges for are FA Cup and the special order CL matches on Setanta. For this match, I would advise getting there at least a half hour early if you want to be assured of a seat.

fado will be packed as well, they will probably have the big screen down, they have several tv's throughout the pub now but get there early as good seats are hard to come by.

am definitely heading to the brewhouse for this one.

Do you know anything about the

Rose and Crown, 288 East Paces Ferry Road ?

It has been reported as soccer-friendly.

rose and crown shut its doors last november because the people running it must have also owned leeds. they turned a buckhead cash cow into an empty building by complete mismanagement in terms of overpricing drinks, firing popular bartenders for the hell of it, not knowing how to get a setanta feed, spending 1million on opening a bar in decatur in a location that has failed multiple times (then jacking their already high prices to make up the costs).

yes i'm still bitter over it, it had the best atmosphere for the football. rumor has it they will open again around christmas, maybe.

In fairness, the Angel (the aforementioned bar in Decatur) is doing well. I know....I can walk to it. :D

Never been to the R&C for football as I'm a loyal Brewhouse patron.

I watched the FA cup match vs. chelsea here last year and although it was a nice place in general, the projector screen was rather crappy. They do have TVs scattered throughout the place though.

Thanks for the info - I'll delete Rose and Crown from the SoccerBars database. (Sad as I'm trying to grow it, not shrink it.)

And just to confirm - is there football at the Angel? I'm guessing not as you go to the Brewhouse despite the Angel being in walking distance.

The Angel will show some of the matches that are shown tape delayed on FSW. I would not by any stretch, however, call it a "soccer bar."

Find a pub that shows ppv or buy it at home if you have that option. Yeah it is horrible that such a big game is only on ppv here in the states but I guess the powers that be assume we will all spend the few buck to watch it if need be.

ManU vs. Arsenal in Northern NH/VT?

I am in the Hanover, NH/White River Junction, VT area for the weekend and would love to watch the game. Does anyone have a clue where I can watch the game? This area just does not seem to have a sports bar/pub within a 50-mile radius. Thanks!

    Re: Arsenal v Man U

Paper this morning quoted Fergison as saying that this game will be the "game of the decade". I highly doubt it somehow. Just another league fixture in my book.

If the situation was different, like its the last game of the season and we are tied on points and goal difference, its 50 minutes in and the score is 2-2 well then maybe that the game of the decade but....

....Me im expecting the typical 1-0 brawl.

    Re: Arsenal v Man U

It's such a big match, they're going to charge you 19.95 to watch it on PPV. They're not dumb. However, you can go to the pub and watch it for $5 or $10, and then watch it again when FSW broadcasts the replay on Wednesday night.

    Re: Arsenal v Man U

The match is on a delay for FSW 72 hours. So you wouldn't see it until Wednesday. If you have digital cable, check your PPV channels for 8am tomorrow morning. It should be there for order. As someone else said, it will be $19.95.

Not sure where you are, but there are plenty of pubs out there. If you go onto www.arsenalamerica.com and on the left bar, it has a link to soccer pubs I believe.

    Good Luck!
