Oh boy, I can't wait..... For those of you who may not read Bergin's site, he's just said in the past hour that basically all hell has broken loose and that the floodgates on trades are about to bust open.
Is that so bad? Makes more sense than the Elliot trade. Should be able to help groom Marshall. Some suggested that Lalas could do this, but it looks now like he will retire.
I've hated Manny Lagos with the passion of a billion suns for as long as he's been in the league, and I don't see that changing now that he's a member of the Crew. I can't believe that this worthless sh!tweasel is now a member of MY team. Unbelievable.
Actually i just got the press release it's a third round pick in 05. It could be much worse. Still, I have always hated Lagos. I can't believe this. My only consolation is that I will be away from a computer for a few days, so i won't see this team go down the toilet. Good God.
i was gonna send you some gin in philly with a little note on it hang. damn, now that you have seen the news before you left. it won't work.
has anyone thought of the possibility that one of the picks we may be giving up will be our #2...especially the one for frasier as I can't see colorado giving him up for late round picks
nobody. not even smith is dumb enough to trade the #2 pick in this years draft... and certainly not for an aging defender who makes a crap load of money, although i guess it could happen but i just don't see them trading that pick for anything...
I will lead a march on CCS if we gave up our #2 pick for Fraser. I know we've been fooled before, but even the Crew couldn't be that stupid.
nope, not anything. i don't think they'll trade buddle or martino. plus i think once again there is far more drama than needed at this point. sure this sounds a bit odd but we don't know what the final plans are for this squad. for all we know this is all laying the groundwork for something else. what that is i have not a clue...but obviously we are not done dealing yet. i will just wait and see what goes on the next few days and reserve judgement until i see this thing in its entirety before i begin to judge and burn smith at the stake...
I don't think it'll be possible to see where this is going until we've used our two allocations. We've given away draft picks, which we rarely do anything with anyway.
I haven't seen what it was officially yet, but Robin should have been super cheap. Colorado didn't have him in their plans for next season, and they were either going to trade him or waive him. I hope we gave them our 5th & 6th round picks for it and nothing more.
I agree. I can't see the Crew giving up too much for him considering we were doing them a favor by taking his salary off of their hands. However i still feel a little like they may be mortgaging the future for the present. Once everything falls into place we will know more I guess.
