Thought I'd get another thread up and running to give us somewhere to talk about our injuries and the like.

I always look forward to our matches against Spurs because of the way they try to stand up and win against us (be it a bit Naive :)) as it often results in an open and exiting game as opposed to teams bunkering down in hope of stealing a point as they so often do.

Injuries up to date as of today according to Physioroom

Apologies if I've stuffed anything up or if I was premature.

It's great to have a match thread to talk. We should start them early like this more often.

Our matches against Spurs in the last few years have been great entertainment.

Interesting points to consider: Spurs not strengthened and who thinks Modric will play in this one?

I keep reading in the Modric to Chelsea talk articles that Modric is meant to be injured and will miss their tie against Hearts on thursday, but outside of those articles I can't find anything about it. Anyone know what's going on there?

I must say I expected Tottenham to have made at least a couple of signings by now, I guess the problem is they can't get players off their books, let alone while trying to make any money from them. Has Palacios' transfer gone through yet? I know Robbie Keane is at Galaxy now but that's not really going to have any impact on them.

I think that if he's fit he'll play, Harry will put his hope of beating us in front of anything else

Looking forward to this game. Should provide a stern test for our young back line. I am up in the air with who starts, but I've a feeling Berbatov will get the nod next to Rooney. The big question is what do we do in CM. I would like to see Giggs get significant minutes, but I'm not sure if I would start him unless Carrick is fit.

I don't understand why you're putting Evra in your line ups, unless something's changed (which so far with no news seems unlikely) he's still out with the knee injury he picked up against Man City.

    Which makes

    Smalling-----Evans----Jones------Fabio

    more likely.

Agree with majority of the lineup, but I would replace Cleverly with Anderson.

Word going round that Rio might be fit for this one, would be good if so, even if he's only on the bench, much better than originally expected 10 weeks

From Ferguson himself, "Meanwhile, Rio's injury isn't as bad as we thought and he could be ready for our game against Arsenal. I don't think he'll be ready for Monday. It's amazing how circumstances can change in a few days."

It seems SAF is getting too accustomed of playing Smalling at right back. Smalling is an excellent young talent, but the focus should be to continue grooming him as a cb, especially if we have options available at rb. Although I believe Smalling and Jones are a better pairing option than including Evans, I understand why Sir Alex has chosen to play Evans.

Um, what do you base that on though? We've played 1 game this year with him as RB. And that was because we had no other options. Evra and Rafael were both injured.

Lets wait and see before we start making such judgements.

I just think SAF realizes Smalling is too talented to leave off the pitch. Jones is giving him the same problem as well. I just hope he doesn't plug him in at rb on a contiunual basis just because of his talents, when it's not a top strength of his. Just my 2 cents.

Well it may become a top strength of his. Also, I think time on the pitch is better than time off the pitch, especially at this age. I don't think we can say SAF is playing Smalling as a RB because he wants to. We just haven't had a fit, better option.

That Smalling is doing a good job as an emergency RB is only good news for him and the club.

Also he will learn alot playing RB in going forward and one on one with wingers or covering for the defense.
A fullback is entirely different prospect to a CB, alot of things Smalling can improve on by playing fullback.
