Vidic Header vs. Everton(A): Nani plays a nice, flighted cross from the right corner flag area. Vidic meets it with a header for his first league goal in a long time. vs. Tottenham Hotspur(A): Nani free-kick cross from the right attacking third; met perfectly by Vidic's head. vs. Aston Villa(A): Nani bamboozles his men out on the left flank and plays a long, looping croos to the back stick where Vidic prowls and greedily gobbles up with a fantastic diving-header back across goal. Starting to stand out. Excellent return from him.
What is standing out is Nani's excellent crossing. What pisses me off is how he can manage to be so good at crosses and so shit at corners. I'm almost tempted to want Obertan to start just so he can take corners.
Definitely for Park's 1st, but for the 2nd. Park did all the work. The pass did not create the goal I think.
technically its been over for a while since it was over a span of games rather than consecutive ones so its not a true run but in terms of being 0.9-1 ratio of goals/assists to games it should be still on
I think given some continuity up front (we've had real inconsistency amongst the forwards) and improved play in CM could see him have a 20/20 season next year too. I feel like he's yet to really gel with Rafa, a CM or one of our forwards. If he does, we could see him blow up. I can't wait.
I did remember Bruce scoring goals but he got 51 I never knew, how many do you people think Vidic can get in his career?
Seconded. I was just checking out his goals and you have the one against Spurs as an away goal. The away game ended 0-0, he scored in the home one.
So is Berba's lack of assists down to selfish play, poor finishing or both? It seems as though he's dropping deep (with the intent of playing someone through) a lot less often and doing so more to link help advance the ball in general. But he's always been a creative force so I don't know what to say. I'm a little confused. I guess he can't have a ton of assists if he's been partnered w/ Rooney for the most part and he's not been scoring.
Well he certainly doesn't pass to Cheech. I swear I can count on one hand the amount of times he's ever passed to him. Remember the goal he scored against Blackpool? Cheech was wide open in the box yet he ignored him (and fortunately for him, he scored.). For someone who constantly bollocks people for not passing to him he sure hates to pass.
I dunno, he strikes me as a chemistry and trust person. He's got good chemistry w/ Valencia and he passes or passed I should say, to him regularly. He's on the same wavelength with Rooney and they'll do multiple 1-2s at times and play each other in. Cheech isn't at that level yet. I think most importantly, Berbs passes to players he thinks will most likely give him the ball back, especially if he's well placed. Cheech is a striker, it is shoot on sight for him.
