Was anyone else surprised that the League Cup game was Carrick's first assist of the entire season

Not really. He hasn't been getting forward much and he was in the dog house at the start of the season and then played CB for a few matches.

It would be interesting if someone found out secondary assists too, I dont think Carrick plays the defense splitting last pass, he is more the guy who is involved in an attack rather than the one who sets it up.

    Getting quite long now :D

Also, can Own Goal reach double figures? Quite a player, that lad!

So far no real shocks, Rooney scoring while playing the furthest forward, Valencia scoring as much as you would expect from a classical winger (actually he has scored more, could end the season with 8-10 which would be a good first season).
We probably need someone else to step up their tally either other strikers or midfielders or wingers.

    Quirks:

    - Evra has 5 assists... 3 of them have been to Own Goal. They clearly have a chemistry going on out there.

    - Own Goal is our second top scorer... is that good or bad?

    - Carrick has his first assist of the league campaign..

    - Berba has 8 goals this season. If we consider him a SS this term, it's really not that bad a return, as crazy as that sounds or seems from his performance level and the amount of sitters he's missed, or serious goal-scoring opportunities he didn't run for.

But Berba only has 4 assists. He's got to be more creative if he's gonna be a set up guy and not a goal scorer.

He's doing quite well statiscally considering the number of starts and minutes he had this season. His all round performances was better earlier in the season without the stats to show for it, but this time around he's been banging them in steadily without the performances to match.

    League only based on fantasy.premierleague.com
14 starts(7 subs), 8 goals in the league. 155mins per goal. 4 assists.
His last 8 appearances: 5 starts, 4 goals, 3 assists. And he came on against Arsenal with only 2 mins left. Pretty good considering.

He's getting a bit selfish though, it would be nice to see an assist or two from Own Goal in the near future. Or would that be asking too much?

I don't think he has it in him. Maybe a few years on in his development.

I wouldn't be too surprised, he has had some considerable spats with Wes Brown & the Neville brothers down the years. :(
