No ticket info yet, stay tuned as I'm sure they will announce something soon. Any hint who they will play? We previously heard it would be bayern munich.

    No word on opponents.

Tickets for the United summer tour last year went on sale in mid March. I heard that tickets might go on sale in late February this time though.

You may want to check into the Manchester United Forum from time to time. When things start to happen I will Sticky a thread with the relevant info.

    Sunday, 25 July.

And there's your reason Chicago is not hosting this year's All-Star game.

It looks like it will be Bayern München & ManU on the 25th.

Here is something posted on the Deutschland yahoo site:

"Bei der Präsentation des Vertrags gab Bayern-Vorstandschef Karl-Heinz Rummenigge bekannt, dass die Bayern voraussichtlich am 25. Juli in Chicago ein Testspiel gegen Englands Champion Manchester United bestreiten werden. "Die Verträge sind noch nicht unterschrieben, aber es schaut gut aus", meinte Rummenigge."

Basically, it is agreed to, but the contract isn't yet signed, "but it looks good," says Rummenigge

Bayern announced today that they reached an agreement to play ManU July 25th in Chicago, although no contract has been signed yet, it's going to happen.

I have another question, is it going to be part of a Fire doubleheader?

Given that it is All Star Weekend, I'd say the chances are none.

    Kool!!
I don't care for the damn all-star match, so this will be a fun time.

You think Jonathan Spector might have a few friends and family at this match? :)

A homegrown Chicago boy playing for Man United at Soldier Field -- not bad. :)

I'd expect more of his family to show up for a Manchester United match in Dortmund or something :)
