The 2nd Leg of a Champions League Knockout! Squad List: Out Players: Rodrygo, Militao, Ceballos, Mendy, Asencio Match Notes: Real Madrid travel to the Etihad with a 3-0 advantage. Mbappe, Bellingham, Carreras, Mastantuono, and Alaba all rejoin the group. Mateo Kovacic has recovered from his injury for Manchester City. Arbeloa has called up Thiago, Manuel Angel, Cestero, Palacios, Aguado and Mario Rivas from Castilla. Cómo no te voy a querer, Cómo no te voy a querer ¡¡Si fuiste campeón de Europa UNA Y OTRA vez!!
Expect City to push almost everyone forward from minute one, applying a high octane press for about 15 to 20 minutes. I don't think they have another choice, they desperately need that early goal. If Madrid somehow weather that storm and not concede, or even better, score one on the counter, then the tie is really over. I don't think the current version of City is capable of scoring four within 90 minutes against Madrid's 5-3-2 defense. For the hypothetical quarterfinals, it would be great if Vinicius, Tchouameni and Huijsen can finish this game without getting booked, or they are going to miss the 1st leg against Bayern. Carreras and Bellingham are also a yellow card away from suspension but I don't think they are going to play against City.
If we survive the initial onslaught we are as good as through. City are going to come at us relentlessly looking for that early goal. We cant let them have it. Defend as we've done in the last few games. No mistakes please.
I agree with what has been said already about getting to half time without conceding. That penalty miss makes me extremely nervous, that anecdotal reasoning that such moments in football don't happen for no reason.
City would be stupid to go onslaught from the start - one counter from us and a goal and it’s tie over. City won’t want to be out of the tie in the first 15. I expect more of the onslaught 2nd half
InshAllah, Real Madrid will make it through. One early goal by Real Madrid would settle the nerves and kill any chance of a comeback. But conceding one early will make for a nervy finish.
They dont have the legs for that. They usually tire out in the second half. Or that would mean him leaving out Haaland and Doku/Semenyo till the second half. Which he won't do. We have to be wary of surprises. Worked freekick, corners etc. Cant leave any players free, dont give up freekicks near the box and dont defend too deep which is only asking for trouble.
I expect City to start strong and score early, putting more pressure to our team. We will probably park the bus and play very cautiously and defensively. I have a feeling that Vini's missed penalty in the first leg will come back to haunt us. I don't trust this team. It's almost always dramatic when Real is involved in the CL matches and I expect nothing else tonight.
I can't imagine not qualifying. I can see losing to a result that doesn't turn the tie, but if they fail converting a 3-0 lead, oh boy.
If you go out after leading a 3-0 tie then you simply never were good enough in the first place. I don’t see it. I even see us winning at Etihad given City’s form and confidence right now.
Just 7 days ago, most predicted we were going to lose at home against this side. Many suggested Guehi went to City and we didn't pursue because City is simply the more attractive and stable place to be at the moment. Crazy how 90 minutes completely destroyed that discourse. That being said, we can't underestimate them. They slipped up at the weekend but this City side is still one of the best European teams, a team full of players with CL pedigree. The team needs to sacrifice, I'm sure they will.
Camavinga should play LB or Carreras needs to be rushed back even if he’s not totally ready. Just no Fran Garcia at any cost please. City immediately created danger on the left side when he came on.
Won't be able to catch the match cause of the timing, but here's hoping the lads who get to watch it get a good match and a good win. Hala Madrid!
Indeed, actually, from what i can remember, for some we were dead from the day Xabi left, nothing more to watch here, however, we are still fighting, hoping we can finish this tie off, good luck to the team and Alvaro

If we get an early lead we'll knock the wind out of their sail. They'll go from believing to giving up in an instance
I had tickets to see Wu-Tang in London tomorrow but just found out they cancelled the show. There is a show tonight that we can use our tickets for so gonna miss the game and see that instead.
Hopefully when you exit the 36 Chambers our boys will have pulled through to the next round. Enjoy! Edit: We need to pack the midfield to start and keep the lanes near to the top of the box closed off. Thats where ManCity have done a lot of their damage against us in the past.
