Hopefully some youngsters get a run out. I'd start Varela and Perrera and possibly have Januzag come off the bench in the second half. I'd also start Memphis and hope he has a game in him to boost his confidence.

    --------------DDG------------
    Varela---Smalling---McNair--Young
    -------Schneiderlin-----Carrick------
    Mata-------Perrera-----Memphis
    --------------Martial-----------

It's been 11yrs since we've last won it and with their victory last season, Arsenal have won it more than us, a record I always thought was pretty cool. Here's to a successful and winning cup run: it's time.

"Fit-again Jesse Lingard is back in the United squad, however there was no sign of Michael Carrick, Ashley Young or Morgan Schneiderlin at the city centre hotel."

United squad: De Gea, Romero, Varela, McNair, Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Borthwick-Jackson, Herrera, Schweinsteiger, Fellaini, Mata, Pereira, Lingard, Memphis, Rooney, Martial, Keane

    - MEN

    FROM your line up I'd:

    Replace young with Darmian.

    Replace Mata with Lingard.

Herrera and Bastian for the pivots.
    :

We don't want Fellaini, but it seems likely he may start.

Depay's dip in form makes me wonder if it has anything to do with the new lifestyle of being a millionaire and only in his early 20s. There was a really good BBC documentary on footballers and money that talked about the detrimental social effects of young footballers in England getting multi-million dollar contracts.

    Here's the link:

No excuses with that line-up. At least our bench has some offensive options for a change.

#mufc subs: Romero, McNair, Varela, Lingard, Pereira, Memphis, Keane.

Fellaini really? It's like LvG wants to get fired.

You want to throw in Fellaini do not partner him with Schweini, come on!!!!

I wanted to see Pereira start, I am disappointed he didn't. I hoped for Depay and Lingard too. Mata Martial Schweini needed a break.

    Maybe we'll see Will Keane.

Varela should have started instead of Darmian too.

This side wreaks of LvG knowing he's one more disappointment away from getting the axe.

This side and the squad as a whole shows that he's taking this competition seriously. It may not be entirely ideal but this is still overall a strong enough team that should take care of Sheffield United today...
