Fulham have confirmed that Manchester United have made enquiries about striker Louis Saha.
Saha admitted on Monday he would relish a move to Old Trafford, but Fulham insist he is not for sale.

"There have been unsolicited and unwelcome enquiries from a number of clubs, including Manchester United," said a club statement.

"It has been made clear to those clubs that Fulham FC does not wish to, and has no financial requirement, to sell."

The statement continued: "Louis' form this season has been outstanding and the current speculative valuations of the player fall very far short of his value to the club.

"Louis has consistently maintained that he is happy at Fulham FC and understands the importance of playing regular first team football at this stage in his career.

"Neither the club nor Louis believes it would be beneficial for his future to become a squad member elsewhere."

The Frenchman has scored 10 goals for Fulham, and on Tuesday said a move to United would be "a dream".

Saha, who has two years left on his contract, has so far refused to accept a new deal but Fulham chief executive Jim Hone moved to end speculation linking the 25-year-old with a move.

"Media speculation surrounding any player can become unsettling and is not welcome," he said.

"Louis is very much part of our future and is simply not for sale at this stage."

He's having a good season, as are Fulham, but I don't rate him that highly. He's fast, but not lightning quick, and his finishing can be wayward at times. Last season he was terrible, and I think his real ability is halfway between that and some of his best performances so far this season.

ManYoo do need another striker, particularly someone with pace and who can play up front on their own. But I would have thought for the money Saha would cost they could get someone better from Europe.

Saha has a great season but if ManU get him then SAF will have to play a two forward system which I fear would affect the way the team has been playing so far even thought it means more firepower.
I believe the team will sign someone to be deputy of RVN; and don't think so they will sign Saha to keep him in the bench.

Who are you thinking? I would love to see ManU go after D Cisse from France, but Liverpool are the only ones in the EPL making a serious run for him. Maybe Kluivert? If a supporting forward is what you are looking for, then Totti at Roma is one of the best at passing and scoring - but Roma are in 1st.

Fulham won't let saha go, unless a huge bid is made. I don't understand why fergie told the press forlan will have a bright future and still be in the market for a new striker.

    CORRECT

fulham wont let him go and i hope they dont cause he isn't all that good bit of pace awful in the air and a touch like a rapist at times not CL material.

SAF has said DF will have a bright career because he will be staying at united 4 strikers at the top clubs is the norm at the moment

My understanding is that Saha wants to go. Given that, wouldn't the prudent thing be for Coleman to tell Saha, stay with us this season, play hard, and if we don't make Europe, we'll sell you if ManU offer a fair price.
