Can I ask which team(s) you support and where you're from?

IMO, I wouldn't of spended a penny on him, I don't rate him at all. It was kind of a stupid buy, considering how many strikers they have, especially now that ManUre are trying to buy Rooney..

And I thought they played a 4-5-1 formation?

Aaaahh, a ManU troll, trying to endear himself to the natives.

Sorry, but we prefer to discuss Arsenal moves here, kid.

when you say you wouldn't ' spend a penny ' on him do you mean you wouldn't ' spend a penny ' on him or do you mean you wouldn't ' spend a penny ' on him , because spend a penny can have 2 meanings over here :)

Me personally I wouldn't 'spend a penny' on him, but I would 'spend a penny' on him

I don't know, what's wrong with figuring what the other guys are doing?

As far as Smith goes, I figured if you could get someone like Rooney, then you change your lineup to accommodate both Rooney and RVN. But do you make a change for Smith? But then, if you're Man U, you cannot really rest on your laurels, because you ain't got many of them lately.

Trust me, as mixmastermatt so elegantly pointed out, this thread was about to turn into a C.Ronaldo love festival, as they all do. C.Ronaldo apparently is very popular with 13 year old boys who may or may not be sure of their sexuality.

Why the hell hasn't he been carded yet? Maybe its just me, but I've noticed an increase in the number of trolls from all teams lately, and a general lack of action against them. I'd hate to see the Premiership forums descend into the kind of crap other parts of this board have gotten into.

Well, he's mostly harmless. I just bin a lot of stuff in here, or sic Motterman on 'em. "'Tis better to handle the trolls internally than go to cards, methinks".

He posts his love letters on your forum mostly, Achtung, so far be it from me to write him off for that.

He gives a flavor to the team, ManU was kinda like soup without salt and he is a salt that make the team just right.

This puts my Macaibi Haifa/Hapoel Tel Aviv post in the Trabelsi forum to absolute shame, or at least gives it a good run...

Don't sell yourself short, billy. Short of ZANI, nothing will ever put the Macabi Haifa/Hapoel Tel Aviv comment out of the top spot.

Come on Coach... I just removed your comment from my sig... be a good guy and quit messing w/ the kid... I mean, he probably really is a kid so isn't picking on him kinda wrong? I mean, the more I think about it, the more I associate you with Gattuso (Efficiently Merciless) or atleast Scholes (Inadvertantly, but very effectively Merciless!)

Man, I've really been digging a hole for myself these last few weeks, some kind of football deprivation disorder. Maybe I should just vanish for a while and let this blow over. WILL IT EVER BLOW OVER!?

And ftr johno, I turned 18 exactly 1 week ago.

Regarding the original question. I think Smith is a good buy. Not the best buy, especially for the money. He won't hurt Man Utd and can only help.
Heinze has yet to prove himself in the PL. He may or may not get settled in. South American players seem to take the longest time to settle into the PL. Continental players fare much better.

That being said, they have enough strikers that they can do well upfront when there is a fixture congestion: RVN, Saha, Smith and OGS.

Frankly, Mancs need a good center mid partnership and a long term replacement for Keane unless Djemba Djemba makes good or Kleberson plays better.
