Chelsea were unfortunate not to come away with a tie. I felt sorry for Desailly. The guy played brilliantly and must have been really shattered not to have come away with at least a tie.
Surprising to see Newcastle making quite a run as well. I think I remember them being 17th(?) at one point during the season. Now if they could only win away from St. Jame's......
Though I didn't like the result, it was a great game to watch. In the last 20 minutes, it seemed like Chelsea were going to be the team to break the tie. Sir Alex said Chelsea were playing for the tie, but their counterattacks were always dangerous.
With Man U pressuring, this will keep the Gunners focussed on each match . . . this is a good thing . . . when Arsenal was up 3-0 against Chelsea recently, I felt they let up and Chelsea got 2 quick goals . . . I hope Arsene's boys can kick it up a notch and keep it there . . .
The game was fantastic, the goals were great, the points are good, and hearing the Arse and Liverpool fans whinging about it just makes the whole thing so much better. Overall, this was a good weekend. At least give credit where credit is due....
I don't know what you typed there, but it had nothing to do with fluke, luck or anything else but pure ambition/desire .... they never give up and that attitude will always stay. If you ask me they deserved a one goal win, they had the killer instinct, Chelsea didn't. Wrong ..... you would be right in saying that about some decisions in the Arsenal game. 1) Lomas never deserved his red card. 2) The referee was simply awful. Arsenal may have diominated, but they had the referee on their side.
It wasn't a slam against Man U... Just typical in the way they have won some recent games. It was sickening for me to see the ideal result (a draw) fade away. It was a good game for Man U. Don't know what else to say. I thought it was interesting the way Bowyer ran into Dennis' arm...
