    You gotta give him credit.

Additionally, I think he's helping out Ricardo Clark tremendously.

By-the-way, what did you all make of this. At one point in the 1st half the Crew were given a direct kick, just outside the penalty box. Richie, was behind the ball, standing where the Crew kicker would be attempting to line up the wall. Meanwhile, Timmy was doing the same from the goal. But it seems as if they were giving oppossing instructions to the Metros in the wall. Timmy telling them to move to their left, while RW was trying to get them to move right.

No one played particularly well, but I thought Moreno really hustled out there. He was all over the pitch trying to do someting. But Williams isn't a bad choice either.

I have to disagree with no one played particularly well. I think the issue was that there wasn't cohesiveness up the field (defense to mid to forwards). It was horrible to lose, but really great to see how Jolley and Pope looked together, flashes from Moreno and Clint, Richie Williams playing his role well and glimpses of what Clark is going to be.

It was a team that was a 1000% better than the one that ended the season last year. Add someone to distribute, having Magee come in as a super sub, things are looking bright.

Ok, the glasses are a bit rose colored.

I'm sorry to have to agree with this statement. Yes, Pope and Jolley looked good. Mathis and Moreno could be good, if they don't kill each other first. The rest of what we saw was an abomination. The young guys were a nightmare. We are not nearly as good a team as we were at the end of last year.

Alright, then. Less beer next game. I was also about to give props to the Front Office, Giant Stadium security and those great Crew fans. Maybe I need to cut back a bit.

The guy sweeping up in section 312 during the match. To me it appeared he was the only one earning his salary last night.

    Eddie Pope.

For all the (deserved) crap the attacking half of the team has been getting on the boards today, we're forgetting that our defense pretty much shut down a potent Crew offense that ran all over LA last week. Buddle, Martino, and McBride were all non-factors last night, and I attribute that to Pope's leadership.

Not as good as the team that lost it's last 3 games and missed the playoffs?
