    Man City v Arsenal

    @ COMS

    Saturday 2nd February 2008

    Kick-off 12:45 GMT

LIVE on Setanta @ 7:30 am EST

Let's keep our fab home record - Arsenal have key players unavailable or sidelined through injury. Should be a great match, lots for both sides to play for and prove.

    Come on you Blues

I really think we have a chance.

Sturridge and Mpenza should start up front. And Vassel should only play if every striker has been struck with a terminal illness.

At COMS everything changes.. Tottenham were able to thump them with hard chasing and effeciant play. Maybe we can do the same.

The game starts soon. 1:45 to be precise and it's one of the only games i don't have to record to watch :D.

Sturridge is lost up front on his own and we find ourselves 2-1 down at half-time. Good game.

Well, we lost 3-1 and Elano was booked and not available for the derby. I hate to be a doom and gloomer, but we may be on the wrong end of a cricket score next week. On the bright side, the team are going to have to sort it out and figure out what to do when Elano is not there.

Still believing in Sven, but would like to see something from this team going forward. I haven't had a good feeling about our boys for about a month. 4-5-1 needs to go -- it ain't workin.

Really opened up after half time.

Ireland needs to have a rocket shoved up his arse, same as Vassel.

Neither had an impact when they were on the ground.

Richards and Fernandes were my best on ground for City.

Richards was at fault for the first goal, he was way too deep and should have marked closer.

Dunne was at fault for the second, leaving his marker to head for a ball which should be Ball's.

Petrov, I'm losing patience with this guy. His passing is too errand and inaccurate. He loses the ball almost every time it goes to him. He needs to keep the ball better and distribute better.

We were simply outclassed by Arse. We still need a true center forward. Bojinov could be the answer.

i watched today game as well and arsenal is just in a seperate class then mancity..i was impressed with the way mancity has played earlier in the year but lately they have not looked to good..a striker is a big time priority..i know sven tried hard to get modric who would have been imense for city but i dont think he wanted to pay the big fee dinamo zagreb were asking..sven also waned to get berbatov who is also very good but his price is also very high..if mancity finishes 6-7 and makes uefa cup i think it would be a good year for them..

We need to turn our season back around and fairly fast. Im not on about getting 4th, just the UEFA Cup places! After the first 15 matches we got 30 points so that was averaging 2 points a game, now we've got 41 points after 25 matches which is relegation form! A massive drop in form, it would of been a miracle to keep at 2 points a game all the way through the season but we're at risk of dropping off entirely and settling for a top 10 finish. The players need to show their desire. I didnt expect us to even draw against Arsenal, and we could end up getting a thrashing next week though I hate to admit. The way its going our season will end way before the 38 games have been played. Elano and Corluka are out of the match next week so we're pretty screwed if you ask me. The important matches will be those against Everton at home, then the long run of away and home matches against the lower Premiership teams. We drew against Derby so its hardly great news, but we should of won by 5 goals on the night. By the end of the month the new players will be in and would of had time to settle in for a bit. I like the sound of this Ecuadorian kid, he could be the answer we need right now. The target has to be to get 60 points this season - 19 points from 14 games, perfectly achieveable but we desperately need to start getting more points away from home. We've lost our unbeaten home record now and we cant rely to always win there.

    Hi CB

I didn't want to watch the Arsenal match, so I empathise.

Great post Alan. I would've put us down for a draw against Everton, but now, I'm not so sure. I too hope our new signings will be on the pitch in the next week or two, we certainly need them. Can't wait for Johnson to come back! :D
