    Hi there,

I am from Duisburg, Germany, and we had a really bad player on our team "MSV Duisburg, 2. Bundesliga" like 3 years ago. I mean he SUCKED. His came from Senegal, and his name was Mamadou Diallo.
Now last year, I went to the USA and I heard about this AWESOME player for New England, his name was Mamadou Diallo, too. I could't believe it, but apparently it is the one and only :)

Now my question is: Was he really that good? I remember us MSV-Fans laughing at him and crying because of him.

I do not think there are big differences between MLS and Bundesliga, at least 2. Bundesliga. So what was the reason? Why was he that good? And what position did he play exactly?

    Grüße

he played striker his first year in the league with the TB Mutniy he lit it up and i think he got like 22 goals. then he got a new incentive based contract and starting firing at the goal at will. he came to metro and got 11 goals but 4 of them came in his first game. he got injured i think 3 or 4 games before the season ended. I think he and not clint mathis was the reason we didnt make the playoffs because i remember one game when he and mathis almos got into a fight. the smae team in the middle of a game. what a *********************. i think we sold him for 800K to a team in Saudi Arabia

no, he wasn't good, in fact he stepped on 2 goalies, been fined and suspended numerous times, and pretty much embarrassed the league. Im glad the dufus left the league.

I HATE Mamadou! I HATE HIM!! I HATE HIM!! I HATE HIM!! He's a selfish idiot!

It was so much fun watching his last game in MLS. Adin Brown taunted Diallo after every shot he stopped. It was great!

Mamadou is a poor soccer player and a bad human being. MLS is so much better without him... and so are the Revs and Metrostars.

OK, it's comforting to just hate Mamadou, as his last couple years in MLS were nothing for anybody to cherish, but in 2000, the year he won the scoring title (beating the second-place goal-scorer by 8 goals, and the second-place point-scorer by 10 points), he was pretty great to watch. Remember the All Star game, when he had two goals, an assist and at least four great soundbites in about six minutes? He was like an unstoppable teddy-bear version of Muhammad Ali.

Too bad he dealt so amazingly poorly when his luck started turning.

Success went to his head and he couldn't stay grounded.

Not the first time a major talent went on the proverbial "downward spiral" when things went awry.

He's an extremely talented player who, when properly motivated and in playing shape, can score goals in bunches. Not that that ever happens much though ...
