Went to Valencia to play bottom side Levante, who had not yet won a single La Liga match this season. Yup, gave hope to Levante by losing 0-2 and missing a PK to boot. This Mallorca side are headed for relegation because I don't know who in La Liga they can beat.

Mallorca are now in 17th place but even on points with Cadiz in 18th. Final weekend will decide which squad goes down and which stays up. RCD really hurt their chances with they lost at home to Granada in that 2-6 blowout. Granada were below them and leapfrogged. Anyway, their defense is still very poor.

    Week 38: 10-9-19 39 points, 16th place

    Osasuna 0-2 RCD Mallorca

Mallorca went to Pamplona and won only their third away match of the season to escape relegation. Angel Rodriguez played a 1-2 with Muriqi to score the first goal, and then Grenier put in a rebound when Prats's header was saved at the post. Cadiz won 0-1 away and they both leapfrogged Granada who could only draw 0-0 after a missed PK. Granada had beaten Mallorca 2-6 only a couple of weeks ago.

    Season 2022-2023 transfer news.

Everton want to sell Salomon Rondon, and Mallorca are interested.

The 32-year-old Rondon scored once in 20 matches for Everton.

RCD have also expressed interest in Wolverhampton Wolves's Mexican striker, Raul Jimenez. This 31-year-old scored 6 times in 34 matches over 21-22 season.

With a Mexican trainer, I can see why there is interest in Venezuelan and Mexican strikers.

Javier Aguirre has signed Jose Manuel ‘Copete’ Arias, a central defender who played for Ponferradina last season.

Dani Alves will be leaving Barcelona and has been offered to Mallorca. But Ronaldo has also expressed interest in bringing Alves to his newly-promoted Real Valladolid.

Mallorca have purchased Pablo Maffeo from VfB Stuttgart for €3m. Good deal. His loan spell worked out well last season so nice to buy him into the squad.

Not too many rumours. One is that Mallorca are attempting to buy S. Dursun in from Fenerbahce, where he scored 18 goals and assisted on 5 in 42 matches last season. Suggested price is €5m.

Another is S. Zaza from Torino. He used to play for Valencia.

More news on the striker front.

Mallorca will not be getting Muriqi back.

    Three possibilities are:
Sedar Dursun from Fenerbahce (mentioned above)
    Egyptian Mostafa Mohamed from Galatasaray
Croatian striker Antonio Colak from Paok Salonica

RCD have signed Vedat Muriqi in a €8-9m deal with Lazio. On loan in the second half of the season, Muriqi had 5 goals and 3 assists, which greatly assisted in Mallorca staying up.

They have also signed goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic on a four-year deal from Stade Reims. Rajkovic will likely be the starter.

Mallorca played their final friendly against UD Ibiza (Segunda, I believe) and drew 0-0. They won the match 6-5 on penalty kicks.

Starting lineup shows trainer's current thinking:
    Muriqi, Kang-In
    Dani Rodriguez
    Grenier, Baba
    Costa, Copete, Valjent, Raillo, Maffeo
    Rajkovic

So, a 5-2-1-2 lineup. Got to shore up defense with 5 backs and 2 defensive midfielders.
