Today Malcolm Glazer has increased his shares to a 98% stake in M.U. which means he can force the other 2% to sell to him giving him total control.
Maybe by the start of the new season they will be playing in a new purple, green and orange kit, and get started on the slippery slope to slide down the table. Whatever one says, this has got to have some effect on that Club, players and supporters, in a negative way. "Let's hope so"!! :)

All those shares that were bought recently might just go right back to Glazer. Damn!

I'm hoping the Red Devils are in the second league by 2007. Glazer will probably foolishly funnel all the Man U profits to the Tampa Bay Bucs.

I hate to see this happening to any clubs, but it couldn't have happened to a nicer team. :D

I wouldn't want them to get relegated because it's hard to laugh at a team if you never play them. I just want a few finishes in 15th place for them. That would be nice.

Any bets on the first season when ManCity finishes above them? :D

Now if we can just figure out a way to minimize the impact of oil on the world we would be set!

Captain Glazer, We just hit an iceberg! The ship is taking on water.

Glazer's response, "Back this thing up and hit it AGAIN!"

    LOL.....what a nightmare.

You know, I really don't see how Glazer is going to impact ManUre in a negative way. Yes, he wants to make money, what businessman doesn't? The point is, the way to make money in today's football is to attract the television audience first, merchandise second, and fans in the seats third. The only way to achieve all of those goals is to put a good product on the pitch that will compete for honors on a regular basis. I think the reports of ManUre's demise are a bit premature; regardless of how much we'd all like them to be true.

Manchester United may not even be called Manchester United in the near future.

    Imagine that!

unlikely, i'm sure the fans will completely lose it if that happens. the glazers might just end up 6 feet deep if they're not careful.

I did have a bit of sympathy for United until today, what them idiots did outside the ground was pathetic! Also, I dont see anything too shocking changing with United. If anything surely it can only be good for them.

Yeah, I just read the article about it. Shareholders United is starting to get extremely militant. I'm anxiously awaiting the day when they start broadcasting their message from a cave in Afghanistan, with the tape being shown on Al Jazeera. I particularly liked the quote from Osama...sorry, Sean Bones about how "It might take a long time, maybe two or three years..." What a total joke. If they honestly believe that the Glazers will have spent all of this money and leave in a couple of years, then a) they're mistaken and b) the club will be dead if that happens, as they'll still be saddled with all the debt. And that whole thing about "the Glazer brand" is among the stupidest things I've ever read in my life. "The Glazer brand is toxic and tarnished, uncool and unstylish." I never knew that Malcolm Glazer joined Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger as a top American fashion designer!

Yep, the story about the Glazers having to be escorted away by over 100 police is scary. Getting militant about things isn't going to help and now instead of concerned fans they're starting to look like thugs. It's sad because I too felt sympathy for their cause.

i feel for them in their view it's starting to get desperate. they want him out of their club fast and if it was our club he wanted to ruin i'll feel the same too, except i'll probably kill him and his sons.

I guess I'm just a pacifist by nature....cause I'd never want to resort to violence....especially over sport.
