can u imagine a stadium between 20-30K that might actually produce a waiting list for mens national team games. the more forbibben, the more people want to see whatever it is. plus any plans i might hope would be more around the boston area(selfish reasons) to attract a bigger game day crowd
If this is true it will be the class facility in the league. Imagin the Rapids being even tougher to beat at home...scary.
"HOK designer James Walters said in April he believed the Rapids' facility would more closely resemble English projects Reebok Stadium in Bolton or Alfred McAlpine Stadium located in Huddersfield..." Yeah, an MLS version of Reebok Stadium wouldn't s*ck: The Magpie
A "local" stadium that might do that already exists - only a little bigger (40k) and in East Hartford, Connecticut. Rentschler Field, site of last night's Liverpool/Celtic match and year-old home to the UConn football team.

McAlpine: http://www.mcalpinestadium.com/mcalpine2/main.asp Never realized soccer stadiums could look so much like soccer shoes.
I tuned in (FSW was free last night) and was confused. The crowd sounded so good I thought it was in England. Why can't we get singers like that? Amy
The stadium was half full. Most of the people sat during the game and were generally quiet unless something that looked exciting on the field. There was a group of people behind the goal who stood the entire time, sang, and chanted. Oddly familiar, on the whole.
I heard that and was wondering if FSW was using audio from an EPL match or something. Haven't they been guilty of that kind of thing before?
I thought we were talking about a suitable local stadium, not a review for Architectural Digest. Who cares how many it drew for a one-off match? They put 24,000 into a 40,000 seat stadium. That sure beats the Revos putting 7,000 into a 68,000 seat mausoleum. Rentschler Field would be perfect for MLS. It is considerably better than Crew Stadium. And if you think MLS investors will be spending the extras to build places like Bolton and Huddersfield, then you must be going to Doctor Delusional for your prescriptions. Just too bad Rentschler is located in Hartford. If it was anywhere near Boston, Magpie, you'd be crawling to it on yoiur hands and knees to get there if it meant putting the Revos in it instead of the mausoleum.
