MLSM was a good game, but it was replaced by WOSOMAN for a small fee. I think he updated that until about 1999 or 2000.

There was another game that came out this past year. He had the original MLSM on there. The game was a sponsor of my fantasy game this past year and it was free to download. I'll look and see if I can find the link for it.

MLSM is towards the bottom right, you can download US Soccer Manager too, but don't pass judgement on the current version, I'm totally reprogramming it.

I have been trying to update the MLSM Rosters using Hex Edit and Hex Workshop Hex Editor, but everytime I make a change and save it and open MLSM it says overflow error. Does anyone know how to update the rosters?

For the WOSOMAN, I used the Universal Game Editor to update the teams and.

    Here:

    FYI.

The capital letters start at around 66 or 67. Small letters atart at a=97, b=98 c=99, etc.

Copy the file you are going to change. Just in case you screw it up. to another

I was able to figure out how to update the rosters with Ultimate Game Editor, but do you know how to update or eliminate the pictures? I made a mistake trying to and Steve Ralston ended up having an offfense of 18,100 and a defenses of 4,000 :). Also, do you know how to change the team names and logos?

BTW, once I've updated the rosters they will be able to be downloaded at http://majorleaguesoccer.net/downloads.html

Can't say for the roster update.

If you would like to try the original MLSM visit http://www.stattosoftware.com (US Soccer Manager is a newer game, MLSM is hosted on the site because you can't find it anywhere else.)

How long it will take depends on if I figure out how to update pictures, logos, stats, teams, etc.

If I don't it will probably take about a week, but it will just current rosters with the wrong pictures and stats (and missing some players since there aren't enough roster spots).

I just started playing with the universal game editor. In other words I discovered the long way to do it which is to change letter by letter with the UGE I linked above. The problem I have encountered is being able to expand the names if needed.

Changing logos is easy. I open up the logos file with paintbrush and the logo I want to use. I copy the new logo and paste onto the logofile and adjust it to fit so there is no overlap. Then I repeat the same procedure with the small logos file.

How do you do logos? Do you unzip them or use UGE?

I use the paint program. (in accesories)

I open the logos file from the game and the logo I want to use (after saving to my hardrive).

On the logo I want to use, I use the upper right button (the rectangle) in the paint program and click and drag to ensure I select the entire logo.

I control C to copy. I switch over to the logo file and control V to paste.
It will appear in the upper left corner and it will be too big most likely.

Use the cursor to shrink it to a good size and then drag it to the place you want to place it. Then press save. In wosoman I can instantly see if it is correct. If it is not, I use the rectangle button to move in place.

BTW how much is your game going to cost?

The game will cost 20 dollars, but keep in mind there's 15 new leagues and a whole new interface so it should be reasonable, thanks for asking.

How do you save the WOSOMAN logos to your harddrive? They're in those logo files, and I don't know what to do with them. I use fireworks instead of paint, personal preferance I guess, but I do use paint to get the size attributes right (well square) for logos.

I do not understand your question.

I paste right over the old logos. I updated the files to current A-League teams and MLS teams and changed their logos. I substituted Orlando and New York for Miami and Tampa. It was just a matter of lining up the current teams and future expansion.

That sounds like a good price. I downloaded the demo and it looks pretty good.

I will now be able to update pictures, logos, coach names and player names. It will probably take closer to a month than a week now. Has anyone figured out how to change a players stats and age?

    All right.

in WOSOMAN, the Logo files are in bunches. For example, Logos1 (or something like that). Then the same with Logos2. It's not like USSM where the logos are uncompressed in the logos\(logo).gif folder.

How do you extract the pictures from these files? I know how to copy and paste.

I do not know how to extract a photo from the wosoman logo file other then using paint and cutting and pasting to another blank file.

So then how do you edit them? Cutting and pasting text? Opening it as a text file?

I open the wosoman file and the pic file with paint. I extend the cut (rectangle) file over the entire file. I ctrl-c to select then go back/open the wosoman file and paste it. It appears in the upperleft hand corner. I resize it to fit the size of the other logos and drag it to the one I want to replace and then save it.
