wow, what a great game (from inside the bruchwegstadion---dunno what it looked like on tv)! fantastic atmosphere in the stands! both sets of fans were in full voice. the most gratifying thing of the whole night (other than rehashing the game over beers later!) was seeing the skinhead, twat eintracht fans having to leave with the taste of a last min. benni auer winner in their mouths!!
(obviously i'm unfairly generalizing about the franfurt supporters...many of whom are probably cool fans who don't: 1. break all the windows in the commuter train to the game 2.threaten the police like gorrillas, but then run like little girls when confronted by the police 3.tear down and wreck a stadium retaining wall on the way out after losing 4. throw rocks, sharpened coins, fireworks at the opposing fans 5. gang up with like 7 guys outside the trainstation, chase and eventually beat all to hell a mainz fan who didn't do anything except walk past them to his train--- i helped get the police who, hopefully, saved that guy's life. 6. try to bait mainz fans after the game on the street---going even so far as to insult n' taunt an old man and a bunch of chicks!! nice...very tough these frankfurters...wieners! 7. then complain that none of the mainzers will take the bait and "fight for their team")
this in stark contrast to the Karinval's Verein's fans who just wanted to sing, laugh and celebrate---sure it's easy to not be violent when you win a derby...but i've been to almost a season's worth of mainz games and never seen even remotely any menace from the mainzers even in losses at away games. i've been to two eintracht games at the waldstadion and now seen them away to mainz... at each game there was similiar behavior. i've been to schalke v. dortmund derbies and even there not seen such behavior (on such a scale). buncha loud mouth goons. hope they stay BL2 next year and get relegated to the regionaliga. sorry for the rant. this behavior by their fans makes the win ohso sweet! even if mainz doesn't go up...least they finally beat frankfurt!

I don't like to generalise, but I also never made as bad experiences as with Eintracht's fans. In Gütersloh they demolished the beverage stands when we scored the lead and afterwards they threw boxes with full beer and Cola bottles to the pitch. After we scored the decision about 200 Frankfurt 'fans' wanted to storm our fan block, just the police could stop them in the last second. When I was in Frankfurt for a game I was insulted by almost every Frankfurt fan I passed even before the game. Afterwards some even were spitting, total idiots. Just the 'fans' of Rot-Weiss Essen are getting close to these idiots.
