Owen's back on the bench, but probably won't figure. We need some scoring punch up top, but the Baggies are in poor enough form that we should be able to see this one off anyway. 2-0.

i will be taking a positive stance on this one. it will be a 1 or 2 nill victory. with chops and luque scoring, confidence should be high. also remenber solano was on a scoring feast. also dyer showed againts southham that he can score. also wba is going down. eversince they sold earnshaw thay CANNOT score to save thier live's(litteralty). although the Legend is hurt we still have attacking sence. Its up to the perminant boss to win this for us. his line-up and sub's will see us threw like they have been. HE IS NOT SOUNESS!!

I have a fear of the game ending 0-0, similiar to the Charlton home fixture - a lot of huffing and puffing, but nothing to celebrate...I don't see where their goals are going to come from, but I'm not sure where ours are either.

    My best guess is

    GIVEN
    CARR MOORE BRAMBLE BABAYARO
    SOLANO FAYE DYER ZOGGY
    LUQUE CHOPRA

Hopefully Emre and Shola can appear in the 2nd half from the bench.

I'll say this, if Dyer really believes he is an English international, this is the game for him to stand up and be counted. I say Zoggy sets him up and he does the business...the last 20 minutes are nervy, Shay earns his arm band, and full points to the Mags.

good post, but id rather see a 4-3-1-2 with dyer as the 1
that would be my fifa06 lineup:D

Matthew Pattison starts in midfield with Faye! No Dyer on bench - Shola and Chops up front...Clark and Luque on the bench!

Pattison starts on the left...Zoggy moves to CM

    Goals?

Solano crushes the post on 23 minutes!...Pattison rebounds wide!

Newcastle have been the better side, but thats the first real chance...

Chopra seems more active lately. The commentators are saying how he seems better without Shearer in the lineup, that he appeared starstruck in that particular partnership. Is he playing well enough to earn another one-year contract?

Halftime...dominating, but we need to keep going..4-0 would see us pass Blackburn on goal difference.

He's come up the pipeline, far as I know. Never got a real chance in the Prem before the injuries late this season to Ameobi and Shearer, but he hadn't really earned it.

FULL TIME...thanks for showing up Baggies, enjoy your time back in the Coke Bottle. 3rd goal could be big when they are all added up at the end.

Basically a reserve side today from Newcastle...where's your injury excuses Souness?

Souness was crap. End of discussion.

Level on points and GD with Rovers now. All we need is them to lose to Villa and we've got our Uefa Cup destiny in our own hands.

Solano was brilliant for your lot today. Ameobi took his chances well. All in all, an excellent performance for the Toon.

No that should be discussed for a long time but we all knew he was'nt the right man form the start.

Good show boys it seems like winning is contagious.
